Back to the anti-thread thing.

There were only 10 posts to the anti-thread yesterday and they were by Niceguy2005, T, RUPD3658 with just one or 2 by NOMAD. The thread rules the anti-thread.

Yes I put my own computer together from parts. They are easier to upgrade that way. No proprietary mother boards, sound cards, etc.

Does this make me a geek, a grognard, or a geeky, grognard?

The last, i think... you WOULD be just a geek, but your prescence here on the Matrix Forum is what gives you the "GG" designation.

My daughter told me "It's a movie daaaad!" I need to stop making these kind of comments when they are watching a movie. Actually, I did like the movie it was pretty good.

yeah - double edged sword here, though. "It's only a movie", but, after a while people actually BELIEVE on some level it is reality, and influences critical decisions. i know of at least one murderer who got away with the crime because of movie-induced beliefs...

That's not the movie's fault, I don't think. Writers are just trying to give us a good story. It's fiction. We have to understand that. I know. I know....

However, before we get too depressed. It's been raining here for 4 hours straight. With this and good ol' Alberto, maybe the draught is over.

However, the lawn needs mowing. However again, it's too wet to mow

That's fine Robert....when I'm not inspiring my troops into fruitless frontal attacks......I often resemble a derelict in London or Bristol.....in fact soon to be down and out in Liverpool for a month or so.........

Just imagine a horde of penguins attacking in a Penguin Wave, being herded forward by a penguin in Japanese Field Marshal's uniform, waving a sword in one flipper (velcroed on, because alas, he has no thumbs)... Not very effective, especially if there's no ice for them to slide forward on; if penguins have to use their feet, they're not exactly fast...

No. No need. I can consult the AAR. I was just looking for an off the cuff assessment. Thank you. I am getting naval and air stuff down in this game but I'm not there with land stuff. A couple of more weeks and I may be ready to try PBEM.

Luckily we penguins are prolific breeders......so I can inspire millions to their deaths......and still have more.

Another unfortunate thing is the penguin tendency to cluster together. It's a side effect of their life in the Antarctic, huddling together to share body warmth, but also means that they're very easy to kill in large numbers with machineguns and artillery when they Penguin-Banzai ...

But penguins are cute

One penguin talking to another;

First penguin: You look like you are wearing a tuxedo.

Second penguin: How can you tell I'm not?

P.S. Garrison Keillor again

Some penguins are cute, some are not... At least one is megalomaniacally insane, and bent on subjugating the world to his mad whims and cataclysmically apocalyptic designs...

I definitely have to read the rest of the thread. I started last night and got thru pages 1-10. Only 320 or so to go. Fabertong seems like a nice penguin.

The anti-thread is casting aspertions on the content of the thread. Now I just got back from the fitness center. They have 2 full rooms of free weight equipment. What can be a weightier topic than that?
