Uh - oh. If he means he assigned them to "Australia Command" - you're right, that is a restricted command and won't allow loading.

i had assumed he meant SWPAC - unrestricted command.

Ah, so it is a restricted command. YOu can't move the unit by plane or by ship.

Just now back from a consultants interview about what we expect from our "new company" - i am afraid i gave our guy an earfull... his eyes kept getting big through the interview...

Hi Robert, is this new information on the job front? I haven't had time to keep up with the Thread lately - 50 lashes with a wet noodle for me.

Yeah, it's looking like the contract between my company and the lab company is terminating as of next week ... and we still don't know what's happening. i have no idea what the outcome of this will be, but they keep reassuring us. However, i've heard stories before, usually they run along the lines of : "Really, these are MAGIC beans..."

Sorry to hear that. It's life as a contractor or consultant, very unstable. I have worked for one manufacturing company, two consulting firms and was self-employeed (sort of). The manufacturing job was the most stable, with self-employment not far behind that. The work with the consulting firms has never been stable, but it has also been the most fun.

Anyone have a good Napolianic era game they would recommend. I'm also interested in a colonial era game or a game from the era of tall masted ships.

Okay guys it is 12/17 and Mindanao will subcomb it 3 -5 days. Is this normal or am I screwing up. I have actually played about 4 weeks worth of turns, but I have gone back to Dec 8 twice. You can do that against the AI. It doesn't care.

Seems a bit quick to me, but it depends on what script the AI "chooses" to follow, i think.

Thanks - i think i'm going to need it.

The Thread helps as a release valve - when things press on my mind too hard, i can distract my brain with this.

I'm looking for a PC game. I just don't have the patience for board games anymore, and opponents are hard to find. My border collie is smart, but he has his limits.

Yes, they were taking away too much time from plotting world domination...plus the morning after headaches were getting to be a real grind. Now I will just sit in my chair and plan for the time when the world will rue the day it didn't listen to my genius.

Absolute gully washer outside right now.... artillery included of course........

I like Crown of Glory myself. It's best in a Internet environment with multiple players, though, so if you are looking for an AI-style of play, it doesn't do so well.

I know this isn't on your list but Railroa Tycoon III is a pretty good game and you have to work hard to make money. THere are some pretty diabolical ways of doing it too.

Yeah, well right now i am about pop a gasket, i'm afraid. There is a general revolt amongst the worker-bees afoot about what is happening. It doesn't look pretty!

Unfortunately, i don't compartmentalize very well, and i am afraid it spills over into my general attitude on life, the universe and everything.

I still like the original Railroad Tycoon best, and play it via DOSBox.
