Can you TOAW grogs point me towards a good Bulge scenario, and list what you like about it, or even why you would not reccomend a specific Bulge scenario?

I'm hoping to play it against Elmer, probably as the Allies.

Any idea of # turns? # of units? There's a lot out there on this one.

The number of turns or units isn't extremely critical...I was hoping for something along the lines of Regimental level, with a map scale of about 2 miles per hex. I'd look at more detailed scales also.

Take a look at 'Rundstedts Plan Martin', a What-If Scenario, a historically more realistic approach for the germans, Rundstedts so called little solution instead of Hitlers favored big solution. The Scenario was designed by Daniel Mc Bride which in itself is already enough prove for a great and detailed scenario, comes with a hugh readme (historical background informations, event dynamics explained and house rules) and is promising to be a lot of fun (I am playing it PBEM, at turn 05 so far)
I dont know how good the PO is, but it's definitely promising for PBEM

Plan Martin is a superlative PBEM scenario. I'm playing currently against Captain Cruft.

Rundstedt's Plan Martin is excellent. But large. To new players I'd suggest trying to defend Bastogne in Bastogne 44 (by Wilder). It's 12 turns, with 93x84 units per side at company level, 1/2 day turns with a small (50x30) map and at 2.5Km scale. Not sure how PO is set up on this though, but it indicates both. Also some of these are TOAW as opposed to ACOW, so may need to be upgraded/saved in the editor.

Or if those that come with the game don't suit, try a search at http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/news.php in the Scenarios section on Ardennes or Bulge. There's at least 9 I'm aware of, though some maybe not here. Aside from the 2 mentioned (and I haven't played any but the above so cannot speak for quality):

Ardennes 44 (Jahnshan)
Ardennes Gamble 44 2.0 (Windham)
Ardennes44 (Scall)
Battle for the Ardennes (Coval)
Bulge (Kuhlman)
Bulge 44 and Bulge 44 mod2 (both Burns)

BTW if you have any comments if you try scenarios as you find them as to quality, please post them to help other players sort through the...errr...chaff.

Hope this helps.

"Rundstedt's Plan Martin"  ... ditto on this scenario.  Its a good scenario.

But, how is it as a PO scenario?   I've played about 10 moves into this one as the U.S. and the PO is Axis.  Is there any feedback on this one as a solo game?

... and yes its a fairly large battle, but if you've played other map based games like PzC or BiN, the size isn't too daunting.

I have only played Plan Martin hotseat, so don't know. I was referring to Bastogne 44, where the designer indicates it does play both ways as PO.

So far, playing as Allies, I notice the PO controlled Axis juggernaut appears to be attacking in earnest.  Thus my lines has holes all over the place ... especially south of Eisenborn Ridge and due east of Bastogne ...

... what I would expect to happen ... so ... so far, the PO is kickin it pretty good.  I just wanted to see what others experienced with this one ... plus I've not played it as Axis yet so I don't know how the PO does on defence.

I should probably reiterate this is in regards to Rundstedt's Plan Martin.
