Just started CHS 2.04 campaign against IJ AI and Hongkong fell Feb 2 1942, so that seems to be OK now. I wonder if it was some patch 1.6 problem. Singapore fell next day too. Those damn IJN subs are eating my tin-can ASW ships (PC, PG, MSW) alive near Townsville... I wonder if there is an easy way to adjust their crew exp at least to 30s. They seem now to have exp of 10-20, especially at night. That is about same as not ever sailed during night.... But then I know I can cruise them around to achieve 45 exp so it's bit moot...just annoying to lose little ship after another to IJN subs... Anyhow, just had interesting surface raid to Tarakan, shows what allied TF can do with decent TF commander even during night: Night Time Surface Combat, near Tarakan at 34,60 Japanese aircraft no flights Japanese aircraft losses E13A1 Jake: 2 destroyed Japanese Ships PG Aikoku Maru, Shell hits 32, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk AK Toyo Maru #2, Shell hits 41, and is sunk Allied Ships CA Houston CL Java CL De Ruyter CL Tromp CL Marblehead DD Scout DD Witte de With DD Piet Hein DD Alden DD Edsall -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night Time Surface Combat, near Tarakan at 34,60 Japanese Ships TK Ichiyu Maru AP Horai Maru AP Ural Maru, Shell hits 12, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk AP Yawata Maru, Shell hits 4, heavy damage AP Bokuyo Maru, Shell hits 3, on fire, heavy damage AP Burisuben Maru AP Chihaya Maru AP Achou Maru, Shell hits 14, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage AP Tsuiba Maru, Shell hits 14, on fire, heavy damage AP Unkai Maru #3 AK Mexico Maru, Shell hits 43, and is sunk AK Nanman Maru AK Suruga Maru, Shell hits 1 Allied Ships CA Houston CL Java CL De Ruyter CL Tromp CL Marblehead DD Scout DD Witte de With DD Piet Hein DD Alden DD Edsall Of course revenge almost came later, but fortunately there were no Betties/Nells around....: Day Air attack on TF at 33,64 Japanese aircraft A6M2 Zero x 54 Ki-27 Nate x 60 Ki-43-Ib Oscar x 12 Ki-48-I Lily x 12 Japanese aircraft losses Ki-48-I Lily: 5 damaged Allied Ships CA Houston CL De Ruyter Aircraft Attacking: 4 x Ki-48-I Lily bombing at 11000 feet 4 x Ki-48-I Lily bombing at 11000 feet 4 x Ki-48-I Lily bombing at 11000 feet I like the experimental air-to-air and AA model quite a lot too.
