Oh boy a new page. I am up to Jan 6 42 (Had to break for dinner). A small destroyer squadron made up of a US and a RN destroyer just put a torpedo into a transport trying to sneek an invasion into Kendari. My recon tells me the KB this way comes. Run away. Run away!

A fun little thing I've done is to mount a Doolittle-style raid on the northern Home Islands. Don't go near Tokyo, that'll get you dead (if you've a competent opponent), but there are some facilities in the north you can pound for a few days, going in through the Aleutians...

Question. I evaced 62 squadron out of where ever it was (I forget). I am trying to offload the last of it from a transport on to Akyab. It will not unload. Is this a bug? Should I try to off load it elsewhere? Help

Sounds like a job for the Yorktown and Saratoga.

Are the planes damaged? If so, they won't unload...

Nope. You can't fly them off the AK, but they don't count as "damaged" per se...

EDIT: I shall have to retract that last statement... Been too long since I've actually played the damn game...

Bruce, I advise you to let the AK sit still in port for a turn. Sometimes, the aircraft merge into their parent squadron automagically.

Good morning all. Off to do battle against the AI. It is now Jan 8. There are several IJN task forces moving west north of Borneo. I am off to see what havoc I can create.

Good luck SPAM head. You're already getting bogged down around Tobruk and what with numerous divisions moving to the front and shed loads more coming in soon I think you've had it.

Churchill is gonna be p*ssed at you. In fact if I was him i'd string you up

Remember the Italians are holding you at Tobruk. Imagine what it will be like when Rommel and his cohorts turn up

The forces you are "holding" at Tobruk are merely parts of the avalanche about to land on your pointy head, boyo... I'd take cover if I were you and wait for my boys to come and capture you...

I just noticed the Japanese have 124 fighters and 120 bombers in southern Malaysia. It's about to get hot in Java

Hi Bruce,

Can't emphasise enough what T said...be careful. It's a long war. It is so tempting to want to attack as the Allies early on since you feel you HAVE TO do something but you don't.

Counter-attacking too early can actually lead ot a quicker collapse since the IJA/IJN will potentially 'gobble' up more stuff allowing for a faster expansion.

Submarines, mostly... The Dutch submarines actually work, you know... Lay some mines too; the Dutch have a few minelayers available.

What he said! Also, try to destroy the oil facilities as you withdraw (get engineers to the bases, esp. Palembang). Utlimately, supplies will be the Achilles Heel of the IJN - no fuel - things slow down, and the sooner you can do this, the better.
