Raver;
Should I have pulled troops from Rangoon to Akyab? Is there a way to perform a fighting withdrawl?

What about evacuating Malaya. Can those Aussie brigades be saved and put to use elsewhere?

This game is only against AI.

Yup.....leave Rangoon and try and hold Akyab, as this will give you a good base from which to launch air attacks. If you get caught in Rangoon there is no retreat path. I tend to pull the Aussie brigades out and send them to either Darwin or PNG.

I think I need to restart this game and try again. The other thing I want to do is send a USN ASW taskforce to Austrailia earlier to deal with sub threat on the Austrailian east coast.

Yeah a six ship ASW TF made up of DDs helps.  Just so long as you send them to the Australian east coast and not the Austrailian east coast.  Reinforce PM as soon as possible and with as much as you can spare.   Get some DMs or even a ML over to that part of the map quickly to help foil any Jap landings.

Oh my head hurts !   I'm currently studying for my coxswains certificate and the IALA (A) boyage systems  and collisions regulations are a real mind spinner.

Sorry about the spelling. I now realize why my Dutch air assets never hit anything. I was not checking altitudes. So much to learn. Oops
