Not sure how to register. I bought it online with a hardcopy sent to me. I would expect that it was registered when I bought it in the online transaction. Anyways, registration link takes you to register with Matrix, which I don't like. I don't want commercialism in my email inbox. On to your point about finances. You can adjust several aspects of the finances - a ton, really. There is limited adjustability via the assn setup screen, when you can choose the level of markets you'd like to play with (high, medium, low, etc) or you can decrease the % of total team finances during setup, too. Additionally, there is the XML file which allows you to tweak almost every part of it. In particular, I've found that decreasing one of the initial lines in the file, quoted below, is very important for shaving the overall finances down big-time, which I think are too much for my tastes: <FRANCHISE_POINT_MULT desc="" formatCurrency="true">250.0</FRANCHISE_POINT_MULT> The figure in red is what you want to reduce. I dropped mine to about 100 and it makes a world of difference. I might even drop it down further and restart the assn (started in 1966). I find that I still have about half my assets available for salaries and so forth. Another line you might want to drop is this one, found a little below that: <BASE_SAL_ADJUST>.700</BASE_SAL_ADJUST> This adjusts the overall salary per player, best as I can tell. I currently have mine at .600, and this might be a main cause of why the payroll is too low and I have about 45-50% of my funds left over. OTOH, you have to account for inflation and the first few years when contracts run out and they get much beefier, so I think I'll play this assn for awhile and check out what happens. I am still new to how these values work with/against each other. Bottom line, there is mucho you can tweak in the XML and for me, if it's there, I want to play with it. This, IMO, is one of the best features of Puresim - the ability to get in and really push the engine the way I want to. Shaun took a good cue from FPS Baseball Pro (I guess that is what he considered) when he made a master file available like this to tweak stuff. I have no clue if OOTP or other sims have that, but if not, then I don't want a part of them (personally speaking). I want the power!
