Could someone from the design team provide a brief writeup of what's in the works ... new game mechanics, new unit types, morale rules, scenarios, etc.?

Take your time with the game. I have waited a long time for somebody to upgrade these games for XP. It was a sad day when Talonsoft was taken over by Take2. They ruined a great company that produced very enjoyable games. In my opinion anyway.[:)

I just want to chime in that I too look forward to something new on these games. My friend just showed me his copy of West Front Elite (which runs on Win 2000 at least) and I like the look of it. We had been playing a copy of the old AH game Panzer Leader and it was obvious how similar this game was. Both games use 250 meters per hex and 6 minute turns. The computer just resolves the 2 hour rules arguments my friend and I have for us. ;)

I look forward to seeing a updated combined version of these games. I do wish there was a bit better timing informtion as I am currently Ebaying for the oringals and cleaning off an old junker computer. If I knew a better idea of when the new ones are likely to come out, I could save my self some trouble.

(Why does no one make good turn based games anymore? These games and the Warhammer 40K games of Final Liberation and Chaos Gate were awesome games. Nothing like them out there now days.)

Thanks,
Duncan

Here's a quick question:

Will the Matrix release contain all the content from West Front, East Front 2, and Rising Sun?  I hope so, as I can't see buying three separate games all over again!

Installing the latest patch should allow them to run. It worked for me, anyways.

Now if the new game will fix the upgrade bug where the later AT guns came in as 1 gun platoons.............

Anyway, having fun with WITP till this comes out.

95% of the time the Campaign games seem to run fine on XP. But there is that other 5% which is why I am greatful for Matrix briging out these games in a format made for XP.

There is a glitch were if someone is in the scenny editor, you may see black boxes instead of the graphics where the buttons are. I fixed this while making my korean War mod for DG, it was a simple palette problem, easily remedied!!
