Coming soon to a computer near you: Smellovision???

"People stopping to smell the roses can now take that sweet floral fragrance home with them or even send it to a faraway grandmother thanks to a new gadget in Japan that records and replicates the world's odors.

The new device, developed by scientists at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, analyzes smells through 15 sensors, records the odor's recipe in digital format and then reproduces the scent by mixing 96 chemicals and vaporizing the result.

Creator Takamichi Nakamoto says the technology will have applications in food and fragrance industries where companies want to replicate odors. But it could also be a boon for the digital world, allowing smells can be recorded in one place - by sensors in a mobile phone, for instance - and transmitted to appreciative noses halfway around the world."

I can see the abuse now.

Yep, think of the most childish, inane thing to do with it and that will be what everyone uses it for.

Yeah, fart jokes are going to a new level!!

EDIT: i think i'll pass on the re-mastered version of Blazing Saddles...

What to do when you don't have a WitP turn and your totally bored with work?

I wanted to play a few turns against the AI, start the June 43 campaign as the allies, but in my opinion the troop deployment is so rediculously FUBARed and so not what I want there isn't really much point. It would take 2 months of game time to get everyone into position. Has anyone else ever played this scenario?

Other people have made similar observations about the later-war scenarios.

I'm stairing at the editor now contemplating fixing it but...I just doesn't seems worth the effort. I have some, what I think are brilliant, strategy ideas that I would love to test against the AI - the AI is good at making questionable strategy look brilliant. The setup is daunting though.

Im really wanting to focus on the middle part of the war june 43 to june 44. I may fire up the editor, but its such a pita to use. In my scenario for instance the allies are going to bypass the solomons completely, but they will have to take Tarawa and the gilberts

You might check around - maybe someone has done the mid-war scenario rewrite. Someone like Spooky might have it on their site.

Heh, must be different in NJ. I thought they all taste like MSG.

Actually, the one I'm currently "eating" is picante flavored. It's just burning the hell out of my mouth. That and a constant runny nose. I hate spicy stuff.

My fav is the salt that tastes like salt.

I worked with a bunch of Koreans years ago and they ate a ton of that stuff. I wasn't sure how their hearts didnt explode.

They also ate a lot of other stuff that will go unnamed.
