Apparently, things are going NUTS everywhere. If that picture is porn, than we need a short brake to check our compass. Just because there are some sick individuals out there doesn’t mean we have to succumb to their standards.

As for that thread-closing business, in case anybody missed the point, it was supposed to be a parody, which is exactly why I posted that cute and benign picture.

My apologies to anyone that might be offended. Mods can edit out the picture if they deem it necessary. I won’t do it myself, as it would go against my principles.

But, back to the brighter side... Bad things happen when you’re missing a turn and taking advice from a certain Ausie. ...like I need to be told twice...... Hang on, he did tell me twice.

The moral of the story: Never neglect the difference in the time zone.

Dino - as a clarification - i did not take offense at such a pic, however, be aware that the ARE people who might.

The pics that ended the first Thread i thought were pretty benign, but nonetheless it got the Thread cancelled.

From what I can tell, most pictures posted here on their own won't close a thread but if there are a lot dealing with a topic related to something sexual, that's when the trouble starts.

I thought the picture was non-offensive myself.

As to the growing paranoia, add it to the long list of paranoid issues people have. If people are tired of feeling bad about the world they should turn off their TV and get to know their neighbot.

I had a friend the other day comment on how the world was getting worse and worse everyday. I had to point out that compared to say the Celts living in England aroud 800 AD or so, almost everyone in the world is better off today. Few have to live with the threat of Vikings raping and pillaging at random, disease, starvation, bandits, tyrant kings. The worlds a pretty darned good place these days and getting better all the time.

Never thought you did...

I appreciate what you're saying, but frankly, I refuse to even consider it... which doesn't mean I'm going to intentionally step on anyone's toe.

A CPS official/nazi would show up at your door with a warrant or some sort of protective order if you took a picture of your kid like that.

Yeah, you know? Kids DO that - mine did. They do all kinds of other cute, funny, odd, and interesting stuff, too. It's all part of being a kid ... like posting on wargame boards ...

Yes Pasternakski. I agree with you. But I have not been able to talk to this many wargamers at once in a long time. The last convention I was able to go to was over 10 years ago. This is fun

Sorry for the delay from my first post as I was immedeatly sent out of town to the field on my job for the day and thus no computer.

I was have joking and half serious but did not call the pic porn but thought it may "seem" to heading in that direction. I would agree with Terminus that it was in bad taste. My main concern would be with the forum and as Niceguy2005 stated that things related to something sexual may cause problems. Is the pic sexual? No, but could be considered so by those more prudish.

My concern with the fate of this particular thread is low but I would think that if someone posted something truely offensive, the moderators would deal with the poster and not the thread where the offense took place.

Dino, sorry if my post was or seemed alittle terse this morning but I was in a hurry getting ready for work and in my haste just slapped down a quick note after seeing your photo.

While I think the picture was in bad taste, it has absolutely nothing to do with anything remotely resembling child pornography...

This is the first non-pornographic, non-violent picture I've ever seen which ought to be banned.

sniff sniff. I don't smell anything. You best check your computer room, think you left some half eaten fish or some other nasty dinner behind your moniter.

I checked, nothing decomposing in the immediate vicinity. My best guess is still that some of that Parfum de Newark is wafting in from accross the river.

I prefer Euo de Linden or Elizabeth.

Since you said "across the river" I guess you work/reside in the city of scum and villiany.

Many moons ago I drove thru NJ and I remember a "odor" as we went by Newark so guess that must be the source?

At least once a month I need to do a search in my computer room to check for any stay chips or whatever that may be solidifing in the corner! Then it is time for some cleaning

Our State motto was going to be: "New Jersey...yeah, it always smells like that".

The smell is from the refineries and chemical plants near the airport. Most of the state does not look like this but since this is the first thing people see (and smell) when they leave the air port NJ gets a bad rep. I actually worked at one for a few months after college. The smell is even worse close up.

When my wife (girlfriend at the time) first came to NJ from CA to visit I told her to close her eyes and hold her breath as we went through this area. Fortunetly CA smells worse in parts.
