That was not an image I needed in my head.

Faber: Congrats on your suicide penguin commandos taking out the CVL.

Syd Barrett update:

A co-worker just gave me an obituary article about Syd Barrett. A few things i did not know/realize were in it, the most interesting (?) of which is that the song "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond" was about Syd.

Not stated in the article (but i suspect might be true) is that the concept (insanity) for the album Dark Side of the Moon might have been inspired by Syd.

BTW - this article (NY Times) also had a pic of the group... Roger Waters became the band's main songwriter - the pic was surely not flattering of him.

Eventually RW apparently suffered from his own kind of "insanity" which almost caused the demise of the group (until he was thrown out!)

"Wish you were here" was also a song written with SB in mind.

heh - just an excuse to recycle an old pic...

Hmmm... i will have to put some thought into this. Is there any huge hurry, or is this just something you want to do in the not-too-distant future??

Hadn't heard that one, but it does make sense. Also, the movie version of "The Wall" is sorta of a recap of Syd's career, now that i think about it...

Right - i've considered Gilmour to be the "heart and soul" of Pink Floyd. But, looking back on it, it seems that they Syd had a much larger influence on the band than i thought, with much of their best work having been inspired by him in one way or another (even though he did not directly participate in it...)

BTW - do you remember WHICH AAR had the pic of you in the helmet?

I've been thinking of a counter-force that can be used against the pengwin hordes..........why not raise an army of cat fighters?

Wasn't there something from Matrix a while back that listed where everyone was in the world? I think this had the helmet pic on it. Used to be the top sticky on all boards a few months ago.
