IIIICCCKKKK!!!

i bought that album some time ago - and played it exactly once!! And i consider myself something of a Pink Floyd fan...

This was done when Roger Waters was apparently in the terminal phases of megalomania - just before he was removed from the band...

Meanwhile, back in the Pacific, Speedy's Corsair pilots are achieving good success against fabertong's aircraft.

This may be in part to the special incentive program: a cookie for each Penguinista airplane downed. Here was one pilot's reward for a day's work:

Actually I thought that the Final Cut was one of their best....ranks with The Wall and Darkside of the Moon.  Oh and of course Animals.  Never thought much of the group when Waters left.

The worst and most depressing Pink Floyd album ever! Listen to something more uplifting, like the "Hungarian Suicide Song" (a.k.a. "Gloomy Monday, iirc)

Darkside was good - with The Wall, they were well on their way downhill. The Final Cut was stuff rejected from The Wall by every band member except Waters. By throwing out some band members and intimidating others, he got The Final Cut released.

However, i will admit the group lost a bit of its edge after Waters left, but i think they had lost even much more of it BEFORE he left. The friend of mine (whom you resemble) claimed their decline started with ANIMALS.

i thought their music did improve after Waters left, but that's just my opinion.

Well, we are in the Final (Cut) Phases of getting ready for the first arrivals later today of various and sundry relatives... Son, Daughter-in-Law and Grandson arrive in a couple of hours, and on Tuesday(?) Sister in Law and 3 or 4 (i've lost track) nieces and nephews show up.

Plumber is outside finishing up final repairs - actually repairing the "repairs" the first two guys did (which knocked out a part of the irrigation system).

i know the feeling about the Karma... i am hoping things have improved here for a bit for me - hopefully The Thread will give you a Good Karma infusion.

While there were a few good cuts on The Wall, overall i found the album depressing, and stopped listening to it.

Get some Oingo Boingo! Good stuff that will rev you up ('course, it may be hard to get a hold of it these days... )

Anything good out? Siginficant other and I were considering movies last night, but the only thing I'd even remotely consider seeing is that new M. Night Shamylan (sp?) thing about some lady in the swimming pool. I can wait for that on DVD since the last 2 things of Shamylan's I saw (Signs and Village) left me very dissapointed. He's got a great touch for setting up the story line but his resolutions suck.

Yeah, i was annoyed at The Village...

i thought Pirates was entertaining, but you should probably (re-)watch part 1 first, and be aware it is the middle part of an (apparent) trilogy... people who went not knowing this were annoyed...

I appreciate the grenade sentiment, but my job is more along the lines of "Here's your sign"

Is it possible to listen to Floyd and enjoy it while not being depressed?

Whatshisface seems to be a making a carreer out of trilogies. I actually never saw the first Pirates. Did I miss much?

I gave a thought to seeing Clerks 2 but I probably wont be able to appreciate that kind of humor, it being a few years since I've outgrown puberty. My S/O just rolled her eyes at it.

*Pre-work tithe.

Working on a Saturday sux

I hope you're enjoying your Saturday T...it's going to be a warm one here today, but not a cooker like last week and we never have humidity....all in all it could be a lot worse...course with global warming it probably will be in a few years. Temp here in Colorado already seem about 5 degrees warmer on average than when I moved here in 84.

Well, I'm off for a run before it gets too warm and then off to the office for a while. Have fun all.
