Fun with airplanes:

Well, i had thought the disappearing P-38 problem had left - but it is back. Now it has also spead to my B-17 squadrons - just spent the last hour trying to trace it down.

The whole thing is complicated in that MAYBE some of them move into the aircraft pool, but then again, maybe not.

However, confirmed evaporations are 10 B-17Es and 4 x P-38Es this turn. No losses reported on either aircraft type this turn, but the squadrons which were full now are short 5 in 2 different B-17E units (10 total) and 4 in the P-38s.

Any ideas?

Indeed, after noticing the file name for the first time, I took it down all together.

She made some good looking kids though. It's just about time to lock my daughter in her closet for the next 15 years or so.

Umm...far easier solution readily available: just tell her boyfriends you're in the Mafia.

She'll hate you, of course, but that's no change, right? Parents are the most embarrassing people teenagers know....least they were when I was growing up.

Ditto... But that's the whole point of parents when the children become teenagers... To embarrass their kids.

She already knows what I'm going to do the first time she brings a boy home. I'll pull out one of my rifles (an old military one) and clean it while he's there. Then I'll explain that it's a military rifle and it was designed for one purpose - to kill people.

Maybe you can pull an M2HB from the armoury, bring it home, and sit in your den cleaning that while he's there. No explanation would be needed there...

Did a little tinkering with my mod, and one battleship-ectomy later, the entire King George V class has been removed and replaced with the Lion class. The Lion class (40,000 tons, 9*16-inchers) was designed as an enlarged successor to the KGV, and the first two were laid down in 1939. Subsequently, they were cancelled, since escort vessels were what was needed.

In my mod, I assume that the Lions came first, being laid down in 1937 (when the first KGV's were laid down). No KG's were built, and instead the Royal Navy got the Lion, Temeraire, Conqueror and Thunderer. The Lion takes the place of the Prince of Wales in Singapore on 12/7, and the other three, plus HMS Vanguard, arrive late war, instead of the KG's.

Ah, the good ole Temeraire. How quaint that the name of a captured French SOL would become such a common name for a British vessel. Probably the British way sending a big ole finger to the froggies.......

So T, do your Lion class BBs come with a submersible option? This one appears to be under the water...or are you just saving the Japs the trouble?

Why yes, that is a submersible battleship (SSBB). Makes the Surcouf look like the Holland I.
