There's been an issue that's been bugging me for a while now.

The AI does not seem to know how to use its super-river bridge units in the Middle East 73 SCE. The Egyptian army is basically stuck on the other side of the Sinai cause it doesn't move it's bridges into position.

How do I resolve this issue?

Yeah, I can do the same thing, but that makes the scenario invalid for PBEM.

The big thing is though, the AI does not seem to have the ability use the bridging units.  I've tried using every formation order, Attack, Defend, Secure, Garrison, Screen.  I've tried making the canal Arab controlled as well as Israeli controlled, neither work.

There must be an alternative to the rather artificial solution of just redeploying the bridging units manually.

This scenario has been around forever; it was designed by Norm himself.  IIRC, this problem did not exist in TAoW CoW.

Seems really busted. I tried putting the bridge units in the same formations as the divisions but they still don't work. Can't force them across no matter what.

Take a look at how it's done in Suez Canal 1973. It's a bit 'brute force' but it works with the PO playing the Egyptian side.

I my Sinai 73 scenario On Turn one I had the Computer opponent move the bridges to the canal and then used a formation order to garrison them on turn two. It works OK but its not perfect if the turn one results don't clear the IDF from the canal. Might be a solution...
