Salute!

My buddy and me faced the following problem: when we play about
a LAN, the synchronity of the game starts to get weaker and weaker. For example, tanks will be shown as destroyed; i hear them hit at the PC of my buddy... but see nothing on my monitor! In the next turn they are still very alive.

I know that you are familar with this problem. We use Ver. 8.403... is it a network-problem?! Or still a bug (i´ve read some threads about this problem in Ver. 7.01 or so...)/is it corrected in the Enhanced-Version? Oh, my, it´s simply not perfect and frustrating... any help is welcome!!!

Greetings,

TL.

online games sometimes get out of sync,
best thing is to save and rejoin the game.
It can happen if one oerson has a faster connection too I think.
Its just the internet, nothing in the game itself causes it as far as I know.

Thank you, Alby.

Now that i know from which way the wind blows i can calm down a little bit... nothing is more frustrating than a problem without a visible cause. Perhaps it will get better when he owns a new computer (mine is 1,8 GHz, his is 800 MHz... we play over a hub, both use XP... "error-correction", pfffffff...). We will save from time to time.

Greetings,

TL.

be careful saving, there is a bug in the saving routine, best for both sides to finish turn, then use the 'Online auto save' which would be slot 000.

Something also to look at, XP was not designed for use on a machine with only an 800 MHz processor. Part of the problem could be XP having problems running on so old a machine.

When I orginally switched to XP from ME, I had to buy a new machine because my old machine would not handle it. IIRC XP requires at least a 1 gig processor and at least 256 meg of RAM to run correctly. If XP is not running correctly, that could cause lots of problems in some very unexpected areas.
