Hi there folks. I'vs just finished my first game vs the AI. I've been playing the Rising Sun scenario on the allied side. I would like some small coment on the outcome of the game which, as the points show was a draw.
The Philippines
Don't know if for example if the fact that I kept Manila and Bataan till the end of a game is a sucess, lost Clark Field during the last turn thou.. while defending the Philippines I managed to push the back the landing force back to Lesagapi for some time, but later the overwhelming forces caused the brave USAFFE forces to retreat to Manila. Also I managed to sink CVL Ryujo during the battle by operating till the end B-17's from Clark Field.
Sulawesi
Japs managed to take Menado after three weeks of fighting, thou they lost planty transports there. Landing force at Kendari was annihilated and the forces that maneged to land got also after few days killed. Macassar was invaded during the last two days of fighting but was not captured only because of the scenario end.
Borneo
Kuching was captured after a week long fighting, and the nearby waters became a grave for Jap transports and supply ships, the base thou was useless for the JIN since the arfield was being bombed most of the time and only a few planes were present there for a few days, also Brunei and Miri fell soon after. Singkawang was captured during the last day of the scenario. Tarakan and Balikpapan were captured without any problems by the Japs since he got reinforcements of few CV's and CA's. This happened at the beggining of March.
Malaya.
Overwhelmed quite fast thou many transports were sunk there.
Sumatra.
Yes, I liked the part this part of the game. Palembang was invaded somewhat at the end of February and lasted till the middle of March, same with Bankha and Medan, quite usefull here was the Indomitable with it's Swordfishes and the fact that I tansferred most of the RAF reinforcements to Batavia and Tjilitjap. During this Zuiho and Shoho got badly damaged and BB's Kongo and Haruna got sung along with CA Chokai. I lost Prince of Wales and Repulse sadly and Indomitable at the end of the Campaign with most of the Dutch CL's.
I've wanted to add two screens to show the situation but something is wrong with my Photo Bucket and the screens are being resized, thanks to this process nothing can be seen on them Anyways the final outcome was.
