Well, it's not really the penance that is the ultimate goal. You just have to remember not to take the world serious.

Aaaah! The World Serious!

I feel a special threshold has been crossed with the 13th page of the Anti-Thread. I'd like to mark the 28th of July as an Anti-Thread holiday and special day of defamation. That day shall be called "Anti-Thread Day!" People will make misery and spread holiday jeer. There will be much gift taking. Around the world Satan Claws will slither on his slug pulled by 8 rabid deer. I feel little sadness over this minor event.

Remember to mark your calendars and play hooky on that day from work!

Its a vicious circle Sarge. Just give it up and come over to the Dark Side. It has its benifits you know. Like we have much cooler costumes.

What makes you think they were "gay" (actually, I'm quite happy myself) ...err... I mean "queer" (actually, I'm a little different, too).

My all-time favorite personals ad: "Batman looking for his Robin. You need not be a boy wonder, but, please, no Catwomen, Jokers, or Riddlers" (no, I didn't place it).

Last animated series I seriously watched was Star Blazers in the early 80s. The "Heros in a half shell" were after my time.

Snaggle puss was one of several Hanna Barbara cartoons. They were not as good as Loony Toons but they would do in a pinch. I am sure Wally Gator was also light in the loafers. Not that there is anything wrong with that mind you but it just goes to show that Barney and Tinki-winki were not the first gay cartoon characters.

I am old enough to remember when cartoons were only shown on Saturday mornings.

The one that always made me wonder was Quick Draw McGraw and that little guy that ran around with him. I always assumed that since I was watching them a dozen years after the fact I was losing something in the cultural translation.

Somehow, I dont remember Popeye or the original Tom and Jerry (before they made them "ambiguouly friendly" in the Scooby Doo era) setting off any alarms. Times change I guess.

Now go repent!

Speaking of Scooby Doo, what exactly was a Scooby snack that both Shaggy and Scooby ate them? I still think it was just a code for pot since they were both stoners.

And to take the gay theme one step further: Velma, homely of homosexual?

That would be Baba-Looey . Yet when Qucikdraw would become El Kabong Baba-Looey would still be Baba-Looey. Not too hard to figure out his real identity. Kind of like Alfred running around with Batman.

You didn't miss much. 2nd rate animation, not really funny, and hard to understand what he said. There was a great episode of Family Guy where Popeye is told that he had a stroke years ago and that was why he spoke funny.

He did, and Alfred's boyfriend was terribly jealous.

I would guess something laced with LSD. I wonder which supermarket you get those at.
