One thing, that troubles me, when I bought War in the Pacific, is - did I get a real original? The cd looks like burned with paper cover, the paper insert looks like printed. Is there only that sort of print or does exist a proper factory edition? Then, are most of the matrixgames games released like that? Thanks a lot! Jiri

Here are some pictures of that: - first is cd from bellow, like you see, factory release is silver, that one is not.

That looks like Matrix standard. Doesn't the CD work properly...?

Hi,

Well you got a better looking cd and cover compared to mine when I bought it 2 years ago. Most of us who bought it when it just came out only came with a cd and no cover. I am jealous.

Well, yes it works properly. I expected a diamond of my own collection and I didn't count that there could be sort of "home" release.

Has this game been out for two years already? Wow your right. I just started up another campaign the other day. Guess I've gotten my money's worth.

I just dug up the cd I got and it doesn't even say "War in the Pacific" on it. The cd label just has the Matrix Games logo along with my name on it and to top it off it just came in a cardboard cd mailer. No fancy DVD case for me.

You kids today are spolied with all your proper labels and fancy packaging.

Well, if you have a collection of games and all of them are factory prints, you will not be too happy with that even... And yes, I like nice boxes :)))

Nicer than my original.

It's blue & white, whith basic "War in the Pacific" lettering.  Jewel case, is just that, a jewel case, no insert...  :)

Looks exactly like what Matrix used at Origins 2 years ago. Got mine from David Heath's own hands then. Can you register the serial number?

I didn't try to register, but I suppose, there will be not a problem. Well, on the beginning I was thinking about that I may be the unlucky one, who have sort of cheap reissue release or who was tricked by the seller. Now it looks, like I shall be very happy!

You got a jewel case? I didn't get a jewel case, just a cardboard mailer.

More seriously, I believe Matrix was expecting to do most of their WiTP sales via Digital Download so weren't really set up for mass CD production.

All I got was a blank CD in a cardboard holder that I have never used.  A nice box to sit in my book case would be great to look at, but I am too busy playing the dang game to sit around appreciating the beauty of the box it might have come in.
