If you read an AAR or something that refers to a "captured" unit, it's usually when a player replaces destroyed tanks or vehicles with some of a type encountered in a prior battle. I do that myself, and I have gotten some rather eclectic cores before. Imagine a force of German, American, French, Polish, British, and Soviet tanks all fighting together against an enemy force. I don't usually change infantry, as it would be highly unlikely for a force of men to change weapons to the enemies', save for instances of extreme logistical difficulties. Artillery and such I will "capture" in the same manner, if it isn't destroyed. But it is very rare that it isn't destroyed outright in my experience.
