Through every scenario I have played of Harpoon so far, I have enjoyed every minute\hour of it.

This has to be one of the most rewarding tactical\strategical games I have ever played, the amount of depth that goes into planning a mission is outstanding and is something that really adds to the reward from success.

The amazing array of scenarios\databases and platforms is just mind blowing and just goes to show the unlimited possibilities within Harpoon. ALL of you who have worked hard on creating accurate and quality databases\scenarios should give yourselves a huge pat on the back for the support that you have put into continuing such a fantastic wargame. I realise that I am still quite new to the Harpoon series, but I can see this all goes back a long way, and it shows in the pure quality why Harpoon is still such a long standing great in the genre of wargaming.

This is one of THEE wargames that provides a heart pounding atmosphere without huge amounts of snazzy graphical content. Strike aircraft closing fast from an un-suspecting location, staying quiet in the hopes of staying undetected because of the enemy possesing superior ranged weapons, running recon to pinpoint hotspots and defences, dealing with a large amount of incoming missiles which have appeared on radar. This just does not get old AT ALL! it is different every time. Pure brilliance.

I for one realise that Harpoon still has its issues, but it's easy to look past and enjoy what is there. There is so much right with the game that makes those things tolerable while they are fixed.

Thank you to everyone involved for providing such a high degree of enjoyment in a computer based wargame that is difficult to match. Please continue your good work, it is appreciated by many, some of which choose to remain silent, but are having a whale of a time with your work.

The knowledge that many Harpoon veterans can provide on these forums is invaluable and has been so to me on several occasions. I'm sure many others are benefiting from this also.

I realise this sounds a bit fanboyish, but its the way I see it from the perspective of someone who really does enjoy quality and detailed wargames.

Cheers

(I would ask for the respect of the members of the community currently engaged in database warfare, flaming and general slagging off and posting of snide comments, please don't post such remarks in this thread. This thread is intended to praise Harpoon for what it is, not to start petty infighting which belongs elsewhere. For those of you who can respect this, thank you kindly, I appreciate it )

Stop talking and get online so that I can 'kick' your butt some more!

Bravo for you to remind everyone that this is just a game.

Here is another pic which shows some of the complicated planning required.

And ya know its quite satisfying to look at that and think, I set that up, I did that, no-one told me to but thats the way I did it, and Harpoon lets me!

You remind me of myself back when I used to play H2 about 16 hrs/day on average. Sleep was really for the weak back then

How right You Are.

I had a brand new 10 MegHz AT clone when Harpoon first came out (fastest available was 12MegHz for anther thousand). I still play it have have never found another game that has kept my interest, been so much fun, and is still a challenge.
