Hi everyone, I just wondered if ther were any AAR's for Scenario 15 playing as Allies Vs the Japanese AI ? It would help me in my own game. I have looked through the forum but not found one yet.

Thanks

99% of AARs over there are human vs AI, I may rather advise you to look for a scenario 15-type both on Allied and Japanese perspective (there are somewhat numerous, and some are even modded). I can tell you, the day you can dodge someone like PzB, Pauk, Laurent, Honda and Co and understand how they work, well I suppose IA will be a joke

"Who can do the most can do the least" we use to say in French (don't ask me the english for that! ) so I believe watching allied humans dealing with japanese humans can't be bad for your experience and your tactics. Computer never explains his mistakes - human players do

Fishbed,
Thanks for the promt repy. I understand what you said, though I was looking for a full Scenario #15 AAR and not a generic one. However , I take your point that a number of AAR's featuring the Thought processes including planning and implementation would be useful. I was hoping to see the planning and implementation of a Scenario #15 proper.
Thanks

you're welcome

You may ask KDonovan (playing allied and posting a lot of very nice homade plans to explain his strategy, that should help) and RUPD3658, they are currently playing stock 15 with no mod
Take a look at KDonovan's situation and RUPD3658's attacks, and you'll see that Jap IA is rather a punching ball than a true sparing partner

Here is their topic

edited, for the sake of my doubtful syntaxis...

Fishbed,
Boy is this a great forum !!!
Thanks again, this AAR you pointed me to looks like it could provide me with some valuable info. I note its a Pbem game and not against the AI though its still very useful. I understand the AI may well be weak for the experienced players, but newbies make dumb mistakes (good learning process I know), and want to make as few as possible.

Thanks for your input and advice.

Pauk and Andy Mac are playing stock Scenario 15 too, with a much more common setup (Pearl Harbor attack on december 7th and no Asia mainland/India adventure) if you're interested. The difference is that both topics are separated, so you may also have a hindsight at their plans before they are being applied, as the opponent is not allowed to check the opposit thread. Check with Andy's performance particularly if you need advices against japan, he is fighting two of the most renowned "japanese" players here (Pauk since december 7th, and PzB since late 1943 if I remember well). He is especially well aware of game mechanics and use them well.

Japanese side (Banzaiiiiii!)

Allied side (the evil Andy Mac, Japan fanboys nightmare )
