Is there a better scifi war movie? Hmmm just about anyone ever made will be better :)
Depends on what you call a "scifi warmovie" though I guess.
That, and some are series, not movies, so do they count? Do pilots of series count?

There are a lot of good stories in scifi that would make great warfilms, if anyone ever wanted to do one. Hammer Slammers comes to mind.

You gotta go for the 'quote machine' movies:

Army of Darkness ("Maybe, just maybe my boys could pull it off. Yeah, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot." "You see this? THIS... is my BOOM STICK!")

The Princess Bride ("You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...")

Aliens ("We're on an express elevator to hell - going down!")

Slapshot ("This young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle. Number six, Ogie Oglethorpe.")

Thank you! I was beginning to worry that Princess Bride wasn't on anyone's list. I find myself using quotes from that movie in every day life.

One I haven't seen mentioned and I watch over and over: Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World.
(Can't get enough of the wooden ships and iron men.  Last month I got to see the Niagra.)

Others on my A list:
Gettysburg
Chariots of Fire
Pretty near anything by Monty Python, esp. The Holy Grail.

Anyhting with "Luna" in it.
I watch so many movies, and I have watched many war movies several times, hard to pick just a few, But the Star wars flicks I watch a lot, heck one job I was on I had no TV and No cable signal, and just a old Star wars tape (Episode I) and I watched it every day for like a Month!

Yes. You're right about Goodfellas. Whenever I see that in the program guide, I click right on it. Every time. Unless there's football on, of course. Go Black & Gold!
