Let me begin by complimenting you all on what a terrific job you've done with the game so far. Now my question: Does V3.0 include a substatntial rewrite of the manual? I know what pain and drudgery can be involved in getting a piece of documentation right, particularly in a small-company situation like Matrix. I'm a 15-year vet of the software biz. However, even the version of the manual that came with 2.3 leaves a few things to be desired -- some of the page references are blatantly wrong (I suspect they are holdovers from the transition from the SP3 manual). And don't get me wrong -- some of it is great. (Witness the tutorial writeup). If such an update is not planned for want of a warm body, is there some way the community could help? A noble gesture indeed, David. Many thanks. We've been writing as we go, updating, changing. For the most part it will remain the same, except for adding the material about the many (and I mean MANY!) changes in version 3. If the offer still stands, we may take you up on it in the future. Your letter is much appreciated by all of us at Matrix. Thank you! Wild Bill ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

I'm the Matrix editor who wrote the manual. The difficulty in writing a manual for SP: WAW is that it is a constantly evolving project. New features are being inserted at the very last minute. For a volunteer effort, I don't think the manual looks half-bad. Nonetheless, tell us any specific problems you see, and we will try to fix them. Well, if there's some other way I can help, let me know. With the release of V3.0 nigh upon us I'm not sure how helpful pointing out errors in the 2.3 manual will be, but let me direct someone's attention to page 71. There are 2 explicit page references on that page that send you to someplace other than they claim. Great work, guys.

It looks very good to me. Commercial games aren't that good at times. What I want to find in it are the detailed descriptions of all the features, options and inner game mechanics. Those help to clarify the things that I see in the action. I'm sure new players value the tutorial. ------------------ Markku "Mac" Rontu "Understanding is a three-edged sword, your side, their side and the truth." - Sheridan in B5

I like the manual also. I printed off a copy and use it all the time. Considering how fast the changes have been coming, I think its a very good effort! casebier
