Got the following as I finished watching the PSPNcast of the first game of the season. Not sure what I might have done to cause it, so I'm not sure how recreatable it is, but I thought I'd report it just in case.

Well, after giving the three finger salute, I went back in to the game. There is almost no indication that the game ever occurred, EXCEPT that Howard Watts's stats got counted and he is completely exhausted from he shutout he pitched. Nobody else has any stats, nor do they have any wear-and-tear from playing the game.

Since it was the very first game of the season, I imagine it may be possible to glean something from the assoication as to what went wrong, so I saved the association aside. Shaun - let me know if you want me to sendthisfile to you.

Well, I finally got around to trying this again, and the same thing happened. At the end of the game, I got an "unexpected error 3265".

The good news, then, is that the problem is reproducable. So I am going to sendthisfile to you, Shaun. Simply watch the PSPNcast of the Buffalo/Poughkeepsie game and you should get the error at the end of the game.

The bad news is I can't play until I get a fix :-(

Bob,

This one was really strange. Your association file appears to have completely missed being upgraded on a number of PureSim revisions (from PureSim v1.34). I can't see how it is possible. Did you crash while upgrading or something?

I'm going to hold off on doing an official release until I am sure this is a total anomaly. Which I'm almost positive it is or there would be hundreds of others with this issue.

Anyway, no promises, but I attempted to open up your association database and manually make all the revisions required. At first it said the database was corrupt so I ran a manual repair of the data, then I added the new revisions back in. After that I was able to sim that Buffalo game. I uploaded it here http://www.puresim.com/top10.zip

Note, you may have to wait until the next patch comes out before you use it, since I upgraded it with the latest code.

That association has me worried though...

You may want to do a quick check of your hard drive too, just to be sure its in top shape and not too defragmented.

Shaun,
That association was just upgraded from PS 2005 at the end of the previous season. The upgrade went straight from PS2005 to v1.35 (RC4) - the association never saw any earlier version of PS 2007. Why it's "just me", I would guess, is that most PS2005 associations would have been upgraded on a relatively early version of 2007. As you may recall, I had a similar issue with upgrading this same association which you recently fixed: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1242852. Because I didn't want to use that "beta" version just yet, I decided to try advancing slightly further through the offseason in 2005 before upgrading to 2007. That seemed to work, in that I didn't hit the other bug I reported anymore. But then, I hit this issue. I do believe I have the 2005 version saved from just before the upgrade, if that is of any use.

Is it possible that what I am seeing is simply two different manifestations of the same bug (the bug which you've already fixed in the current release)? It wasn't clear to me what the fundamental problem was that you fixed there.

Can I confirm that you are now up and running with the fixed association I uploaded in concert with 1.38?

Also, (and I know I am being a pain so I apologize) can I get a copy of the association in PS 2005 format if you still have it? I'd love to trace through the upgrade to see if I can find any issues. As part of my standard release tests I have a few PS 2005 associations that I use for upgrade testing, but I want to be sure to try yours just to confirm that this was soem sort of isolated cased and/or was fixed by a previous patch.

I think you are right, I think its a side effect of a previous bug.

Hope you are up and running!

Shaun,
I haven't downloaded 1.38 yet, but I did bring the association into 1.35 and ran through a PSPNcast on one other game. Everything seemed to work, but that's the extent of what I did with that association.

I'll try to dig out the 2005 association tonite and send it to you.

Bob

It's on its way. Looks like it'll take about 20 minutes to upload.
