I'm in a PDU-on PBEM as the Japanese in April '44.....the game mysteriously accelarated all allied units 6 months, and he started bombing me with B29s in the fall of '43. Now that we're in 4/44, his superfort BGs will start getting reinforcements as well.....plus converting any BG he wants to '29s....but I digress....

So, my question is this - what is the normal and max range (in hexes) for the B29s?

This is the start of some real fun as the Japanese player

You can watch the Allied AC screen, and check the range (normal and extended) on it, just divide it by 60 to have the range in hexes.

Sorry, I haven't WITP available right now but I always do that.

From memory range should be around 25 ?

In RHS the range of a B-29 is 93 hexes - corresponding to a normal range of 23 hexes. This is greater than in stock or CHS. We contemplate increasing this by 7% for version 5.0 - if that is agreed upon - so it will be 24 or 25 hexes (it is very close to 25). The WITP system is that 25% of range is normal - but it should be somewhat greater for a bomber.

I think B29 range is 20 normal and 26 or 27 extended in stock scenarios.

Given the number of B-29 lost to lack of fuel while raiding Tokyo area from Marianas, I won't say Saipan-Tokyo range should be considered as normal.

If you fly B-29s at those rangers, you -will- lose a lot to ops losses and damages not making it home.
