I really hope that the delay does not cause undue expectations.  Release 3 will be released as an open beta before it will be set for a final release.  There are many small changes made in the game, and tracking down errors has been time consuming.

David has been really receptive to new features, but he also knows that there are limitations.  Many ideas from the beta guys and the public have been considered for future upgrades, but they just cannot make it into Release 3.

I believe the open beta preview of Release 3 will come shortly.  That will help move things forward more quickly.  I hope the community will accept that development will continue on Release 3 even after the public beta release, and public help will be very helpful to this project.  It will not be perfect.

That stated, I have to say that Release 3 is much better than release 2, and I hope that it is received well.

Marauders, when you say that Release 3 has improved from Release 2, will I be able to create and play a full scheduled NCAA Division 1A and 1AA season ? This consists of approximately 240 teams (at least, I think?) Will the game schedules permit me to play inter-league in both divisions like the college schedules? Thanks

It will come with a schedule editor

I've been thinking about creating a huge league myself and want to setup a march madness type playoff system with 32 teams making the playoffs

The schedule creator has been changed for Release 3, but this wasn't one of the main features for this release, so while it now works, it is still limited.

I'd hate to even see what 240 teams would do because the schedule is sets up a round robin format.  The schedule can be edited, but that would be a lot of work.

Marauders,

A solution to the schedule making and lots of teams problem would be to use conditions to create the schedule. Like: Is done to creating leagues All teams play every other team, Each Division plays each Division in a round robin format, Starts with the most Southeastern Division playing the most Northwestern Division, play Division and Conference opponents twice and etc.

Is there yet a way to change from NFL's Playoff System and Single Elminitation, to at least 25% of teams (no matter the number), Choosing Series Playoff System (like NBA, NHL and MLB) and able to choose whether to require win certain amount of games or win certain amount of games in a row, to advance to the next round/level? If not, then in my future company I would have to use ehbition mode (like I planned to with FBP '98).
