Shaun,

Got a "situation" here:

Bases loaded with zero outs.
Grounder is hit to the pitcher.
He throws to FIRST BASE for the out, allowing a run to score.

Not only didn't he try for the runner at home, but he didn't even try to throw to 2B for a double play or something.

Uh...could you please make him throw home? Thanks. (smile)

In my game recently the computer made the correct fielding decision and went home with the ball for the force in that situation. I have also seen them throw to third to force out the lead runner when men were running from first and second base.

Maybe on your game it was a play that the pitcher could barely get to and was on the 1b side of the mound. Possibly it was his only play for a sure out.
