Whilst playing yesterday a thought jumped into my otherwise vacant head

After a raid when i checked the after action reports i had no idea of the damage before the raids.

Is it possible/not to late to to put an extra column in the after action report with the last recce damage, so that you see before and after?

Not sure, as some of that info is random and not really good info to start with

the info the one side gets is not the info the other side gets

there is a chance for recon to bring back bad info on a target

How did I know you would say that!

Ok it was just a thought.

Note to self, buy a large note pad and pencil for target info.

actually - it's not as hard as it sounds. All I need is a field on the target for "last known damage" that contains the Allied estimate before the run, and then one for after.

Potentially you could get a site where last-known is 50, and post-mission is 30, and you wouldn't know which is accurate. I don't see a problem here. I would not make this field viewable on the mouse-over, just on the debrief, as I would need to reset it nightly...

If, and I stress if this goes on the list it is not likely to be in the release or in an early release... One day, though...

We got too much on the plate for right now, but I think we can set it for something to look into when we have time

so, if anything, maybe for a patch, I will add it to the list, but it is going to be low Pri

okay added to list

Thanks for that.

One generic issue I have always had with GG games is the information management, which is usually poor. Now, I don't want a statistical eye in the sky that breaks FOW, but often the info you want is in the game, it is just you need (for example) hand written notes from 'before' and 'after', or across a couple of screens. I would support almost anything that presents info already available, better. I think this would open the game to a slightly wider audience. It is not unrealistic either. RAF BC had a huge staff to do things like collate target info, we are one person when playing. Simulating a large staff with my pad and paper is tedious.

Have you ever though of an output tabulated file of all info visible to a player that could be opened and manipulated in commercial spreadsheet programmes for example (small? overhead for you to generate the tabulated file, but no further effort required...?

So is Harley saying this is do-able?

Are you both saying its a good idea?

I had an idea? And it was a good one?

Bloody hell! I'm now off to lay down in a dark room for a year or two and recover!

I feel exhausted.

Wellllllll

almost any idea is do able, (as long as the engine supports it) it just depends on how much work it is going to take

and more importent, how much time we got to work on it

we got a major rework of the UI system, it works and works great, just got some touch ups to do

we got new art, and we got new art coming, we got to get that linked and working, and I am sure Harley does not even want to talk about Art right now

I mean, I took a break yesterday, and I still spent over 3 hours working on the data base

I got about 3 days of work in on JG 301 and 10./JG301 and I can't find the notes, I know where the info is at, so is easy to redo, but don't want to have to redo it all, but the main thing is the thinking, do I want to add in 10 or not, do I want to add in IV/JG 301 or not

(IV/JG301 is very interesting, which is why I am back and forth on it)

but back to the point, the idea is decent, the idea is workable, it just going to take some time to get to it

Yea, found most of my notes on JG301, was driving me nutts, think the kid put some of my 1940 Docs on top of them and then reclipped them to one of my clipboards

why it was a hassle, is a number of the pilots who belong to 10 are already in the game, so they need to be moved, with out the notes, I got to hunt and then find each one and set them to be moved agained

saves me a few days of rework

well, early shot

but this is 10./JG301

with pilots pulled from the wrong units, I still have to add in the rest of the staffel members

(lol, let me restate that, they were not in the wrong units, they were in III/JG301, which since I was not going to add in IV, I put pilots belonging to IV into III, now that I got more info on IV, I decided to add 10./JG301)
