Woodruff, Scheduling IS the problem. One league with two divisions (9 teams in each division) does nothing to make scheduling difficult because all the teams are in the same league. HOWEVER, if you have TWO LEAGUES, you can't have an odd number of teams in both leagues or else you have to play an interleague game EVERY DAY (or have way too many off days). This was the dilemma that MLB had when it expanded from 28 teams to 30 teams. With 28 teams, each league had 14 teams (an even number), but with 30 teams, each league would have had 15 teams (an odd number). Therefore, one league had to have 16 teams, while other only retained 14. Therefore, since the game (just like MLB) is designed to differentiate between leagues (at least with regard to awards), to have so many interleague games would skew the individual league statistics. Granted, PureSim does not "reset" a players stats when he changes leagues (like the way stats reset in MLB when a player changes leagues), but note that the game is designed to simulate MLB in that way, so the same restrictions would apply with regard to PureSim as they do with MLB when developing a league.
