Name=SPWAW Enhanced FV HTH
Description=Removed 'designer' units normally not used for PBEM or The Long Campaign. This allowed the addition of more variety of units for PBEM or ONLINE play. The 'Willy Meter' has also been removed.
Some AI formations have been improved for better battles in the Long Campaign. This Mod is NOT meant to be used with Enhanced pre-made scenarios or campaigns, nor any of the edited ones for Enhanced.
Also I have corrected some oddities and errors I found in Enhanced FV.1
that either reappeared or were missed before.
Plus changed a few preference menu button names.
see if you can find them.

MORE INFO HERE
Enhanced FV HTH MOD

It is a work in progress...

Pardon my ignorance Alby but can you just clear something up for me please.

I play mostly via email with a friend of mine in France. We have been playing through the scenarios that come with the game or have been subsequently added. After we have completed the one we are on now we intend to load up your Enhanced FV1 and start playing through the scenarios that have been designed or modified for the mod. My question is, do we stick with FV1 or use your new HTH?

I assume that when you say to use HTH with pbem you mean with made up battles – not anything previously created. Is this right?

Finaly, I am going to give the Long Campaign a go in between playing pbem do you suggest using the HTD for this? It would mean having to versions of the mod so that I could swap from one to the other as required I guess.

Sorry to sound so dumb mate!

If you are playing the pre made scenarios
stick with FV.1
For long Campaign you can use either. I personally prefer the HTH version for Long campaign as some of the AI formations have been improved somewhat.

BTW
I have re edited some of the Enhanced version campaigns as a problem developed with soviet units using the 45mm L46 gun.
The re worked ones are
Balkan crisis
Watchword freedom
The Victors
and the last 7 scenarios of Long Long Road to Victory.

Just as clarification; this can be installed much like the original Enhanced, right? Or do I need Enhanced installed beforehand to get this installed?

There are 2 files at the Depot

One is a mini mod for those who installed their Enhanced FV Files manually. (manually placing all the files in the correct folders)
This file can be installed with modswap.

The other is just a zipped file and you will have to follow these instructions to use the files inside.
1. Make a copy of your Enhanced FV.1 file
2. Rename it to Enhanced HTH or whatever name you like just to distinguish it from Enhanced FV.1
3. Download the zip file (NOT THE MINI MOD) by whatever zip program you use.
4. Extract the files inside somewhere temporary and then, place them/paste them,, however your particular zip program works, into your duplicate FV.1 Mod file (making sure it overwrites the older files inside).
Your opening screen will indicate SPWAW Enhanced FV HTH

I am gonna keep working on this sucker for the future.
We will have one verison (FV) for premade scenarios and Campaign players, as some designers like Dutchie keep pumping out scenarios and there are still plenty to be edited.
and one version for the PBEM/online/long campaign players where the 'designer' type units will be dropped for more variety of units.

Anytime my friend..
I know it might get confusing, but with the addition of the modswap program, it seems a waste not to take advantage of it, considering how easy it is to swap out mods.

posting this here for those who dont visit the Depot
WHATS BEEN DONE SO FAR

1. totally rearranged all German Tank formations in the same format as Leo's H2H Mod. Panthers are now classed the same as Pz IV tanks and no longer have their own formations. Therefore in SS panzer and Med Panzer formations, you can now choose between the Panzer IV models and/or the Panther Models. The "elite mixed armor" formations from Enhanced,
up to 1945, have been removed. For 1946 - 1949 the "Elite armor" formations have been replaced by "(s)" (special)formations consisting of Main Battle tanks and Heavy tanks. All Panzer IIs and IIIs are now classed as "light tanks." all Panzer IV models (excluding the CS versions) and Panthers are classed as "Main Battle Tanks." Tigers and Kings remain as "Heavy Tanks".
Also added camo Icon for Pzr IVG and IVG+ and Stug III F

2. added more Infantry type units to some OObs to give more variety.
This required removal of some units...listed at bottom of this post.
added various different type weapons to these new units.

Infantry additions so far...
A. Germans:
Added another type of Regular GE infantry Sqd, another type of Fallschirmjaeger, also a VolksGrenadier SMG Sqd, and another type SS-VT Sqd. Also Added elite 'FJ' Recon Sqd to German OOB starting in 1940, Only available only in the FJ Company.

B. Soviet Union:
Added new type of Rifle Sqd unit. Also added Para Recon Sqd to Soviet OOB, available only in Paratroop CO. Added Soviet Siberian Infantry(elite infantry.) they get the AT Rifle now instead of the Guards
Also a Tank Hunter Sqd (4 man Sqd armed with AT Mines and SMG)

C. Bulgaria and Romania:

Added Horse transport units for use in the new Mounted Infantry formations. (see below)

D. Poland- Major rework here
Some LWP units and formations were not showing up.
I have tried to reorganize them.
Also noticed some 'LWP' units with 'PO' in their name, changed to LWP.
I think the LWP formations are a tad better and more organized now.
Required reclassed some things for better formations.
Some were classed oddly before anyways IMO.
Should be fun to play as LWP forces in Long Campaign starting in May 43.

Other things:

3. Created some formations in a Bulgaria and Romania oobs that use their Mountain troops with Horse transport.
similar to the 'MTN' formations in USA.
The Infantry can actually dismount the horses they ride, works much better than the regular cavalry units.

4. Both type King Tigers now available in German OOB.
The Early 'Porsche Turret' version was available only in Czech OOB before. Now the Germans can have the King for Normandy, which they did.

5. Re did some Hungary Icons, gave Panzer IV F2 tanks, and the Panzer IV CS tanks, better looking camo Icons, instead of standard blue ones.
Hungarian 'Tigris' is now tan Icon to better match other units Hungarian units.

6. Removed the FO units from German Armored Car formations, and from the German Motor Scout formations.
Also made "Sturm Platoon" available for purchase. Before this was a 'hidden' formation and was not seen.

7.Added T-44/100 to Soviet OOB. (stole from spww2..LOL)

Hoping to improve the AI

8. Some "AI" Formations have been given "elite" status, especially "assualt" formations, through out the OOBs to hopefully help out the poor AI during Long Campaigns, and make for better battles. Also noticed alot of AI formations seem to be missing their "special flags". I corrected as many as I could find.

9. USA Tank destroyers now have their correct designation.
M10 3 inch GMC, M18 76mm GMC, M36 90mm GMC.

10.. Changed German 'AI' formation that always bought nebelwerfers in long Campaign and Generated Battles. It now contains 120mm mortars. The nebels run out of ammo too fast and thought the mortars would better help the AI, since it does not know how to use ammo resupply.

11. Changed a few rarity codes so some of the perhaps, more rare units, are not so readily available.

12. Noticed quite a few units have had their ROF adjusted for some reason? Or they were missed in previous versions.

Well this was making them extremely too cheap.
so what we had was back to Vanilla 8.3 type stats.....
An SS MG34 and MG42 in Norway with half the ROF of of the MG34 and 42 in Germany.

this is only one example of some I found.
I have corrected the ones i found.

13. Soviet BT-7 M35 had no ammo for one of its MGs...arrrrgg...fixed this.

14. Added AT mine to Soviet weapons arsenal.

15. US FO units somehow got their prices wrong again in FV (too cheap, back to V1 prices),
I have re-corrected this.

16. Grenades in MMG and HMG squads.
Somehow In Enhanced FV, over half the oobs have had the grenades removed form the MG squads???

I replaced them all.

17. The "Willy Meter" has been removed, and I changed a few preference menu button names

18. Rearranged SS Pzgren Formations.

Units removed from OOBs so far:

1. GERMAN OOB:
Coastal Fort and Coastal Gun, Siegfried Fort and Siegfried Gun, 'Small' Naval guns.
GE PanzFst team armed with Pz Fst 30.

2. Soviet OOB:
M04 Patrol Boat (this Unit had AP ammo for the 2 12.7 MGs and should not have had that type ammo anyway.) and
'Small' Naval guns, BT-7-M37+ (combined this unit with BT-7 M37)

Absolutely Alby, the ModSwap program is a god send!

Just out of curiosity though would it be possible to have SPWaW installed twice, say one version on one drive and one version a second drive. Would there be any conflicts do you know? Just thought it might be another alternative to perpetually swapping mods.

you can do that, but modswap only works with your most recent install, and looks for the default installation directory.

8. Renamed 'all GE Rifle Sqd" to 'Wehrmacht Sqd"
9. India 'Kukri" knife was using a gun sound when used. fixed this
