Former British ambassador to Denmark. Wrote a book about the Danes and why we're different from everybody else. Always interesting to read what informed foreigners have to say about one's country.

That's the usual problem with computerised translators. If they see a word they don't recognise, they run away and hide...

MASSIVE!!!

5) Thats because your music sucks. If Rule Britania, Spice Girls and James Blunt is the best you've been able to come up with in almost a 1000 years since the Norman invasion, you diserve every one of the fifty pennies we care to send you.

Well, I've never actually heard a song by any of those people, BUT, I would have to disagree with you there Onime. The above not withstanding, probably the single greatest contribtion the UK has made to the world is music. They can't cook, but man can they rock. I mean you just can't argue with The Beatles, The Who, The Stones, The Kinks and at least a hundred others whose name escapes me at the moment.

Not, the English legal system is probably the second contribution.

Oh no. This was just a joke. Although I dont really enjoy the people youve listed (aside from a few Beatles staples), I know that the Brits have had a lot of good artists. My favorites are Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys, but there are a lot of other people. But theres also no harm in tweaking our English cousins a bit.

Its a small matter of accounting oversight. They were too busy fighting the war while were were tallying up our bottom lines on invoices, pending loans and the like.

Hey, it was a learning experience for me. I never knew that there were so many words in the Spanish language for "fan of the German soccer team".

They offered me some beer too, but the cans kept hitting my car and I didnt catch any of them.

Hmmm... I know that partay is in ebonics, but partake might be a stretch.

A correct translation would be more like:

"Hey, homey, gib me one ub dose muff'ns. Iz jes 'bout fo'twenny..."

You can mark the decline of Western civilization in 1985 when Run DMC did a duet with Aerosmith and rap became accepted in middle class society. It has been downhill ever since.

That one was good.

I have tried using the mute button on the remote but so far no success. Fortunetly I have the abilty to tune her out if her story goes beyond one minute. All I hear at that point is the voice of Charlie Brown's teacher. If she asks if I am listening I am able to repeat the last minute of what she said so as to avoid the frying pan.

She does the same thing to me when I talk about WiTP
