I'd forgotten how awesomely exciting this game is. I've got 3 games going at the moment - however they are all limited in speed (mostly due to time zone differences.

So, I'd like to start another game with someone in this time zone - who can usually do a turn a night and a few over the course of a usual weekend.

I already have two games as the japs, so would prefer allies, but am happy enough either way. You probably don't want to play me if you're brand new - I'm not very nice.

Setup:

Scen 15 - stock (not ready to try changing the database just yet).

Me = Allies You = Japs (or vice versa)

FOW on.
Sub Doctrines are on.
Allied damage control on
Auto sub ops off
Auto Build at Start on
Auto accept replacements at start is on
Extremely variable reinforcement,
Jap surprise on
PDU is on
Vary first turn

The rules: Same as all my other Pbem house rules have always been.

1. The jap player you may port attack PH on turn 1, no where else, although bombardments, invasions, and hitting airfields, going after allied CVs instead are all fair game. Basically no port attacks at Manila or Singapore on turn 1. After turn 1, all is fair in love and war.

2. The allied player on turn 1 will not enter ANY orders to ANYTHING to simulate the japs achieving total surprise - except for moving the cvs that are already at sea. (No creating tfs, no orders in china, no tweaking the cap over PH, no pacific fleet NOT being in PH on turn 1 - After the Jap player gets their free punch on turn 1 the US player can do all that on turn 2.

Basically the jap players sends their opening turn, the us player loads it up, moves the CVs and sends it straight back about 2 minutes later. THEN it is game on ;)

3. No Allied 4 engined bombers not allowed below 10k ft.

Any savegame slot except 3, 7 or 10 will do.

Email Luskan2@iprimus.com.au with your opening Jap move (or your request for mine) and post here in this thread so I can close it and not get 500 game requests ;)

Lol - I know what I'm getting into here - but if there is one thing that sets WITP far and above all the other PC games I've ever played, loosing WITP is just as much fun as winning.

Japs - makes things a bit more difficult, but gives me a chance for redemption in that first turn.

It's nice to know that the very first purchaser of WITP is held in such reverence...

I'm glad everyone has such high hopes for me.. it should be a good fight.. Luskan is a mean Japan and I am a newbie as the allies... So this should be a good game... I will say 1 thing... I don't believe in waiting until '43 to be aggressive... I will hit him where I can... Just ask Rroberson... I surprised the heck out of him with CVs off Japan in early '42.. Cost him a BB and some other ships...

Also learned a lot from Rroberson and Oli about defending the SRA. Cost me quite a few APs and small combat ships when Force Z would show up at a lightly defended invasion.. Oh well.. maybe I can do the same to Luskan - we will see.

I agree.. didn't know I had such a high profile being I've only every played a few people... word must travel about me.. Hmm.. wonder how much is true and how much is lies... Oh well.

I do not claim to be the best player - probably Mogami - but I do put up a good fight... and like trying oddball things to surprise people. All I can say is I hope Luskan keeps some bombers in the Home Islands set to Naval Attack... as you never know when I will show up and say hi

Thankyou all for the resounding vote of confidence <sarcasm off>

We've already established that Xargun is at an extreme disadvantage against me - he's 8 hours behind.  Don't see how I can loose really

I am not above reading all of Xargun's AARs to get a line on his crazy moves! Certainly he won't find the home islands empty (Raver already taught me about that mistake).

I'll be up for a game probably in a few weeks, Ive only got one game currently running at the moment (been running for about a year now), all the rest of my opponents have dropped out, and I've been extremely busy. I don't mind what side I play

You guys should use Nik's mod rather than stock. Much better. Of course, you will have to be very cautious against flak. China would also be a stalemate. I would look the mod over before playing it though. You would definatly have to adjust your battle plans.

I love the dang thing. Even though it really makes things tougher. Especially in China for the Japanese.

A2A is much better, but I feel that the durability still needs some adjustment. It is extremely hard to down Allied a/c. And now, just about everytime anyway, a/c will get thru CAP and get a crack at CV's.

As a rule, I prefer a game to a historic simulation - I would prefer not to mess with the stock database - and won't play as the japs on Nik's mod.  However since Doomed is the jap player in our upcoming game, it is entirely his call (and he wants to give it a go).

Well, I always play as the Japs and have no real problems. But China is a stalemate in all my games. Not about to tangle with all the level 9 forts and full strength Chinese units there. As long as the Allied player adheres to now massive bombing campaign from China. Already had that happen to me.

It is still very much a game. I think you will like it Luskan.
