I have the same email. I hope a lot more than just that is being fixed and that is just a reflection from one build to another and not a reflection of the complete patch.

Sure hope that it is publicly available, soon, so that we can avoid another fiasco (a.k.a. Beta Patch 3.7.1)

Oh, that's right.

A patch that turns a marginally functional MP game into a non-functional blob is a FEATURE and not a fiasco.

Thanks for pointing it out so that we can post New Feature Reports under the support sub-forum in lieu of Bug Reports.

I'd prefer using another adjective starting with "F", but we're in polite company.

Sounds like an interesting new feature. Looking forward to testing it out.

Who needs to make up anything? The Beta Patch 3.7.1 is available to existing owners of ANW. That's the great thing about science and facts. They are not open to interpretation and can be repeated by anyone.

Hopefully, it gets fixed. However, the Beta Patch 3.7.1 is currently the only one available in the Matrix download area and renders the game unplayable in MP

Verification available on Xtreme-Gamer.

Heh...you'd be suprised. There's one character that claims there's 300 bugs in 3.7.1. He's not in the beta team either.

With the quality of bugs like this:

Bug Report: CTD when weapon fired

No one needs to worry about the other 299....

Well the thing is that, no matter what we do, there's always going to be people that are not happy with a product. But for some people, a bug isn't really a bug, but rather 'something that doesn't work the way I want it to'. Perfection is a happy state of affairs found only in the movies and on TV. Unfortunately this isn't TV or the Movies.

It IS however the weekend :)

There are reasons Herman isn't in the beta team and he has made them clear to the powers that be. Otherwise he would be on the beta team, his absence is not for lack of desire to improve the game. The same goes for his bug reports, they aren't meant negatively, just observations of undesirable results from the game and better documented that most of what you probably get from the beta team. It has been a while since I've coded HC but Herman was there, annoyingly at times yes, with bug reports up to high heaven. But you know what, not a single report was false or concocted, every single one was accurate to a fault and it was left to me and the gang to triage the reports just as your current test process. I expect Herman hasn't falsified anything on the H3 front, especially given the quality of his HC reports when he isn't even a hard core HC player like he is on H3.

As for 3.7.1, I can speak from experience both playing and running H3 servers that it just doesn't work well enough to be used for multiplayer. It was a beta, I get it, please use your time to make the game better, not criticize someone who is trying to help or gloss over obvious defects.

Good to hear that in HC Hermans bug reports weren't false or concocted. However under Harpoon 3 a number have been pointed out that were. The ship in land bug was one that created a whole new bug , while the reports posted about units starting within minimum range won't fire was contrived to say the least.

The point is he's already jumping on AGSI and hasn't seen the current beta at all. I don't recall him doing that with HC and I was there through some of it. You want to help Herman out Tony, why don't you code him back the chromosome he seems to have lost. You can't really criticize something you haven't seen and try to come off as knowing what your talking about.

What a PERFECT example of a reason not to be involved with the Beta Testing group. Many thanks for your contribution.

The land ship bug was found while playing Quinton Van Zyl's "A Sting In the Tail" scenario and the Minimum Range Bug has already been independently corroborated here.

Just because some users lack the wherewithal to test this game exhaustively does not mean that these bugs do not exist. Open wide and you can get both feet in....

You know I find it that Ranger who is well respected over at Harpoon Headquarters also calls 3.7.1 a mess and that people should use 3.6.X.

"Hm... 3.7 is a pretty messy exe (even the patches). If you can, get a hold of 3.6, it runs a lot better! 3.6 is not only more stable, but runs faster and doesn't have the many hundreds new bugs and weird behaviour they introduced in 3.7... (yeah, the AGSI guys are even trying to convince us that a lot of the broken functionality/behaviour in 3.7 is actually new features... go figure!!)"

Throughout that thread Herman, you failed to answer the accusation that the situation was contrived, you also failed to answer the accusation of plagiarism, that you termed "cloning". I don't think resurrecting that thread as an example of your integrity works well.

Sorry, can't agree more with Tony. Herman and I have spent a LOT of time testing the last versions we have access to, checking each others findings before we post or send a report.
ONLY purpose and continued hope that the most serious bugs (no we realise not all) will be designed out in new releases (yes we know it will be more than one).

and what version would that be Freek? Whats the point if your not looking at the latest. That makes no sense.

Unless of course you and Herman are looking at the latest....well?

As always, we only deal with publicly available versions. The latest Beta could cure cancer for all that it mattered. If it isn't publicly available, it may as well be on the other side of the moon.

Bug Report: CTD when weapon fired

Again, thanks for providing yet another fine reason not to be on the Beta Test group.

Does that mean I won't be on your Xmas card list?

Oh woe is me, woe is me,....
Whatever shall I do?!

Let's just hope that the next publicly released patch (Beta or otherwise) doesn't crash every Multi-Player session and thus render the game totally unplayable.

Verification available on Xtreme-Gamer.

Yes, it is FAR better to try pretend and hide the fact that a Beta Patch causes each and every Multi-Player session to end in CTD. The more folks try, the more idiotic they look.
