I'm guessing its some type of an Italian Corvette or Patrol Ship, probably after the surrender, since that looks like a US 3"/50cal mounted up front and a radar pod on the mast above the crows nest.

The camoflage paint and location of hull numbers tells me its a US ship... DE or SC. Looks like stars on the jack. Carly rafts are also a US indicator.

However, the flared bow, step down hull form and presence of portholes indicates a Brit design... possibly a corvette.

Would also be true for former IJN vessel but now am just guessing.

Yes, she -must- be in the OB for WitP, and will not be a AP or AK.

You're close RaverDave. And yes Trojan, she is a repatriated IJN vessel (actually shown in post-war service for Taiwan). But she is not a Shirataka-class ML.
