Okay, I want to thank Shaun again for taking care of the MVP selection bug! Now onto something else that I think needs to be improved for online multiplayer leagues. That would be the amateur draft and the lack of human control for human owned teams in a multiplayer league. As it stands right now, teams are able to prepare a draft profile for making selections during the draft. The profiles are sent to the server by the individual owners, the Commissioner then runs the draft, Puresim retrieves the profiles, and the draft picks are made by Puresim. First issue is the lack of an amateur pool for owners to look at when making their profiles. Would a profressional sports team make a draft pick without ever looking at the players? I've looked tirelessly inside the game figuring the data has to be there somewhere, but I can't find it. What I've been doing is exporting the player data to Excel and pulling out only the newly generated amateurs then sending that file to my owners when a draft comes up. It works well, but could be some time saved if the game would just publish the draft pool somewhere. Or maybe an add-in can be created? Next issue is not allowing the human owned teams to have direct control over their draft selections. Now, I love having the profile option built in...but I think that should be more of a list option available for any human who can't make the draft. The first option for the selections should be allowing the Commissioner to find the exact player in the amateur pool and clicking to select that player for the team. For most online league players, the draft is one of the most enjoyable parts of the league experience. It's the chance to really be the GM and make the big decision on who to bring in. Many leagues run their drafts live in a chat room. To leave that decision up to a draft profile really is anti-climatic. I know the code is there for pick by pick selections, since you have that ability during the intial draft. Why not allow this during the amateur phase as well? Leave the draft profiles in there for teams to use as a backup in the event they can't make the draft. I know the time for mods to Puresim 2007 is limited as Shaun begins work on the 2008 version of the game. But, since the final version is not out yet I hope that this would be a fairly simple mod that could really benefit online multiplayer leagues.
