If your "desktop" is 1280x1024 and the game is hardcoded to 1024x768 then you should not have any problems with cutoff screens. Is your monitor resolution actually set to 1280x1024?

Please attach a DirectX dialog file.

Before you do that make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date.

I have my screen set to 1280x1024 and things are fine. This sounds like a font issue, possibly.

I have the same setup as rogeur, except for amd64 2.0 ghz, and the game runs fine.
It's running on dual monitors, game on one side manual on the other.

tried to make a screenshot, but shift/control/pr.scr doesnt work
I found out however , that the screen with the govenors was a scroll thingy
The lack of scroll in fact. I could scroll down now , so that was the
reason for that screen. But i have had a big army screen , with all the div's etc
and generals , where the generals (just moved there) stood on the right
side of the screen and were almost off screen.
I have three more questions .
1. lots of times the scroll doesnt work with my mouse. it does up and down with the wheel
,but i have to use the arrows for left/right etc. ( this happens a lot).is that a know fact?
2. when i disable the music , it always is on when i load a (saved)game even when the button is off. I have to able and disable it again.
3. i looked in the manual (printed the sucker) , but cant find how to put off the quick battle screen.
All i want is win or loss. how do i do that? i play adv and nothing activated on the battle options.
