JonReb and I are starting a PBEM game and I thought it would be fun to try to imitate jchastain and Gil and conduct my own battlereport. I will be taking the side of the USA and attempt to save the Union from the rebel forces.
My wargame experience is limited to the Combat Mission games from battlefront which I have been playing for the past four years.
Turn 1
Here's the game options we chose to play with.

These are the Generals I was given.  A little disappointed considering but I'll have to deal with what I’m given.

Here’s my economy screen for the first turn.  I shifted some cities from labor to money to start the diplomacy war.  I left iron and horses at the defaults for the turn.

To composite for the production shift away from labor I decided to impress labor from three cities in the hopes of being able to jumpstart my economy building.  As you can see from the screenshot Labor was really the only option I had that did not carry any real danger.

The Diplomacy screen.  Let’s see if I can outspend him.

Going to jump ahead and show the force disposition.  I moved all my forces out of Kentucky and combined the 18th and 19th brigades and sent the empty 19th canister out west.

And finally my promotion choice.  I chose McClellan because he is already out west and because of the bonus he comes with.  Lets see where this battle goes.  I’ll upgrade Emory or Grezz next turn.

Turn 2

Turn two was all about building up my infrastructure.  First let’s take a look at the Report page for the first turn.  Alright, we win a small battle in Westpoint, hopefully it will give experience to my green troops.  Next we notice that I stupidly lost the 19th division, well fudge.  That Impressment attempt did not work out too well either, I only got 1 of the 3 cities, luckily I dint have any cities go into unrest.

On the second page disease strikes. Luckily the losses were small and will be replaced quickly.  However I noticed France support for CSA increased to 3!!!.  How in the world dose it jump 3 points in one turn.  He must have pored all his money into France I guess.

I shifted the economy of some cities from iron to horses in the hopes of getting a cavalry unit built.  I also chose to impress 40 horses from Buffalo, New York.  Hopefully it will be better then the last attempt.  I also build a Iron Works and another mine in Harrisburg, a Armory in Connecticut, and a Engineering in Rhode Island.

Turn 3
I don’t have much to show this turn.  Winter has come so I’ve chosen to have my armies sit tight where they are.  Most of the brigades are on no supply to direct the reinforcements to those that had been hit by disease.  My impressment of horses in New York failed but there is no unrest.

Nuts, he got iron from Europe, At least he did not increase with England or France.

I cut back on my diplomacy spending this turn to afford a Hospital in Delaware, A Calvary unit and a RR station.  I also equipped some of my better infantry brigades with mini rifles.

Here’s the AoP in all its fine glory.

I forgot to get a picture of it but I promoted Emory to 3 stars.  My plans for the spring offensive involve taking two divisions down to Florida and laying siege to Tallahassee.  We’re see how that goes if I can keep his fleet bottled up.

2ed part of the turn’s report.  Hot dam he is destroying a lot of supplies.  My cavalry unit is still four turns from being completed.  Disease hits another out of the way garrison, I’m so glad the AoP has not been hit yet.  And he goes up in points with the English and the French, what gives.  Atlas there is good news for the Union.  Kentucky has joined the Union side against the rebels there horses are much needed.

I’ve upped my spending on Diplomacy to almost 1/3 of my total money income.  It is very annoying that he is making such headway in the Diplomacy war against me.

I took the turn to add 2 horse farms, 3 mints, and a Manson to my cities and upgrades more brigades to mini’s.

The location of our forces, I moved one army into Kentucky, the other one was unable to make it due to bad weather but will soon be joining the first.  Other then that everyone has stayed put for the winter.

And with the end of my turn another promotion, Woodbury was chosen this time to help out the AoP. Again not much to do since it is winter, hopefully the action will pickup once spring comes around.

I had to retake my turn due to an unknow error that prevent JonReb from loading the game.  I changed my buildings a bit and ended up with a mine and manson in harrisburg and 2 mines and 2 horse farms in cities out west.

1st part of the report
Another uneventful turn mainly spent organizing my forces for a attack latter in the year.
