OK - so far no takers in my "which president lost a car to another president" in a high-stakes poker game... i'll give a hint or two: the guy who lost the car hadn't become president yet, and the guy who won the car was a sitting president. And here is the type of car that was won:

Actually, i am not sure that the end-product looked like this. This is supposed to be a prototype car in the hands of a collector. It exhibits at least 2 features that were not supposed to be in the production car (if i am correctly interpreting the notes i found on the car).

Yeah, you never know quite what you're getting at a restaurant, although sometimes there are clues...

Ok, I'll take a stab at it. I'm going to bet it was George Bush senior who lost the car to Ford.

BTW, two rather large cats visited near us on Monday - one about 4 feet long (the giant bobcat i've mentioned previously) and the other somewhat smaller: apparently her nearly grown cub. They sat on a hill across the creek from our house watching the dogs and us... the dogs spotted them and the male barked at them, the female dog fled to the house... wife then saw them and snapped 30+ shots with her new digital camera.

Well that vehicle is vintage early 60's I would guess. I am not a car buff so I don't know much about cars, although isn't that a 67 Corvette in that picture? The bucket seats on the car would suggest it's not a 50s car.

So, if the car were new at the time of the game (that's an assumption) then we might be talking Kennedy as the sitting President, but I'm not sure if he was the type to play high stakes poker. Johnson could well have been the type though so I will guess Johnson was in fact the sitting President.

But, who would Johnson have played poker with? Probably not Nixon or Ford. Carter was too much the Sothern Baptist. Reagan? We know its not Bush Sr. Bush Jr. would have been in college about that time. Forget about it being Clinton unless my timeline is all messed up. I'm stumped.

I suppose my guess would be Johnson lost the car to Reagan. Ha! the idea of the two of them sitting down at the same table makes me laugh. That seems highly improbable.

You got it - but it was the other way around. Reagan lost the car to Johnson - and Johnson kept the car for several years (maybe as a trophy? )

The car was a Chrysler "Dual-Ghia" - the body actually hand made in Italy. Only 117 produced - less expensive than a Cadillac, and Chrysler lost money on the project.

Well I was wrong though the car is late 50's not early 60s. The more I think about it the more I could see the two playing poker.
