At work unfortunately tithe.......

But only for a couple hours. BoA awaits at home..........right after I wrap Christmas presents.

Somehow I've got to get the wife to understand about the little check box "Gift wrapping: ".

"But dear, I was just trying to save you money!!!"

Exactly what happened. "I'm not spending $5 on a gift box!!!!"

Any Threadians use the VASSAL engine to play games? I've used Cyberboard and Aide-de-camp a few times to play old board games but VASSAL looks really slick.

I looked at it very briefly. Never really felt any inclination to pursue it...

Just got done with a phone interview. Now I have to go do the personal interview next week...YUCK!

I have to say I am greatly confused about what to do. I really love my job for many reasons, but the potential job is less stressful, better paying and more stable.

What's the new job?

Coating operations manager for a laser optics manufacturer in Colorado. The company has plateaued over the last couple of years and it looking for help to make a push to get up to the next level. Half the job is babysitting a production group that is doing just fine on their own. The other half will be helping to implement new initiative to improve quality, capability, capacity, etc. There is some growth opportunity but the whole industry is pretty slow growth.

On the other hand my current job is working for a small aerospace software startup as a Product Manager. The job is both exciting and dynamic. However, I am having serious concerns about the long-term, or even short-term viability of the company. On top of it I am starting to have some differences of opinion with management about the realistic and attainable goals for this product.

I worked in the optics industry as an engineer at the start of my career and have to say. It was neither exciting or dynamic. Most engineers in the industry have the social skills of lichen.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I even get an offer. Otherwise, it is a moot point.

On the VASSAL thing, I looked at it several years ago when it was pretty much just a place for all those ASL dweebs to get their fix.

Now, it's got all kinds of great old (and new) games on it, *including* Victory Games Civil War.
