What we have to bear in mind is the fact that Communism doesn't stop for Christmas, the Reds are everywhere...

The French have raised their terror alert:

They've gone from "RUN" to "HIDE". The only two higher levels are "SURRENDER" and "COLLABORATE".

Calls for the French army to assist in situation have been to no avail. Rioters have left the French armed forces unarmed after burning down the country's white flag factories.

Probably the result of a multi-million dollar grant.

Next will be a study to see if the holidays make men eat more, then the study to see if men and women eat more, then the study to see if men and women eat more during the study, then....

PS, note the wording in the study the holidays MAKE WOMEN eat more not WOMEN EAT MORE DURING THE HOLIDAYS.

Just got a mail from my statistics teacher to inform me that I've passed my written statistics exam, with a grade that's above average for my class. Just one more grade to go!

I went to see the new Will Smith movie "the Pursuit of Happyness". All I can say is WOW. Incredible true story.

As I was sitting in the movie, I was thinking, we always honor the guy that pulls himself up by his own boot straps, but come one. This guy (Chris) had to raise the cow, to kill to get the leather to tan to stitch the boots (with straps) to pull himself up by. And he had the good fortune of being very intelligent. Does my heart good to know that he is out there somewhere enjoying the good life.

PS I didn't mispell happiness.

I knew I wasn't going to get the equivalent of an A, but I'm still pleased that I got what would probably equate to a B. Statistics aren't fun...

BTW, what's the passing grade in the US grade system? C?

Passing is C in  most cases, maybe a  C- but not often.

Figured as much. I'm quite pleased, especially with the "above average for my class" comment...

One can pass a class with a C but at the grad school level that is considered something of a black eye. IIRC in my program we had to maintain an overall B (3.0) GPA to avoid accademic probation.

Pfft - grade inflation. Back in the days when giants roamed the earth, C was supposed to be AVERAGE. D was borderline pass, F fail.

Yep, back in the USAAF, in their review process anything other than perfect across all categories meant promotion below the window, which was pretty much the kiss of death to a career.

Well, that's been going on a while (even in the 60s and probably far before that.)

However, i was amused at watching a high-school graduation where 75% of the kids were on Honor Roll (and no, it was not a special school for "gifted and talented".)

Damn, communist spies are stalking my neighbourhood singing revolutionary songs!  Don't worry though, I've seen past their disguises.  Silly hats and false beards won't fool me, especially as they made the error of wearing red jackets
