Also, i've encountered problems with lightbulbs apparently switching themselves. i put a 250 Watt American lightbulb in my war room, but when i came back it was a 20 watt bulb made the the Warrant Officer Company. Sometimes the bulbs switch to a Japanese brand.

I have a had a prblem with shipping my lightbulbs by air. Whole cases of them seem to disappear in transit.

Does anyone else think that 60 watt bulbs should be available earlier? Also, production of 40 watt light bulbs is far below the level it should be...

Do we still suffer a co-ordination penalty for using more than 1 US lightbulb in a room?

Only if you use them together in one large chandelier. Put each bulb in a different lamp, and their brightness will combine without penalty.

Also, the Japanese always seem to have 100-watt bulbs, whereas in reality, most only could get 40 watt bulbs.

It's not the duty, it's the 6am start I don't fancy. That's what time communists start work...

I guess I'm a Commie then. 6 am does suck and I do it 4 times a week.

You guys obviously don't work in this hole where I work. I work 6-6 and on most days never see daylight. I'll take the comfy chair any day.

Okay, you can't call Christmas Communist. Under Communist systems, joy is prohibited and nobody has any money to buy presents...

Except the party bosses. Not that they need money because they just take what the want from the sucker...I mean glorius laborers.

I've finally figured out why I can't stay away from The Thread, apart from the fact that it is the one true thread   It reminds me of the conversations I have at work

Mountain

I don't drink any coffee until I get into work, usually around 8:30. My hours are officially from 9AM until I get done with my work...which is never.

Yep, hence the coffee.

Actually I usually give up and go home around 7pm and I really only work the occasional Saturday. The hours aren't too bad really. Better yet, most of what I do (when not posting on the forum) is fun.

My first management job (post university) was in manufacturing and my department was at the end of the line from a process standpoint. Being the typical poorly managed company, we had just about no planning mechanisms from one department to another and the emphasis was put on monthly shipping numbers. So, nothing really happened the first two weeks of a month as guys in my department were standing around with little to do because the departments upstream hadn't gotten their work done yet. For them their goal was to get the work out of their department before the end of the month. Most of our work got pushed out the door in the last 3 days of the month. Then I would work hours that were like 6AM to 2AM. I slept on top of my desk more than once. That was almost 15 years ago. Last time I checked the comapny was still in business and still operating the same way.

I have a pretty good idea which regulars who post here have served in the military. It does occur to me though. I wonder how many have served during a conflict.
