I just got the game and the digital download (hard copy to follow in the mail).

The game will not completely open up; I get stuck on the historical quote page with Lee and Grant pictured. A message says something about an "assertion" error. The game never gets past about 65% on the download bar.

I am so excited to play this game but am a bit frustrated becasue I can't.

Some please help!!

Sounds like maybe you don't have enough RAM. What are your system specs? If you're at 500 MB you're going to have to make some adjustments by disabling sound and setting the game to low-animation. (Instructions for this can be found in the "Essential Modifications" thread (or whatever's it's called) that's pinned to the top of the main forum.

256MB of RAM
60GB hard drive
AMD 64 proccessor

Can it be used or do I have to make some upgrades. I am not the best with computer. It is a HP laptop so, are upgrades easy enough or I will I need professional intervention?

I don't know about processors so I can't answer that, but I do know that 256MB of RAM isn't enough. The RAM requirement is "1GB RAM (512MB for Low Animation) required," so at the very least you would need to upgrade to 512MB by adding some memory.

Thanks for the tip!

I will pick up of 1GB RAM today and install; hopefully, this solves the problem. The wait is killing me!

I will let you know if this helps.

That RAM is expensive stuff! But I don't care, my computer is much, much faster now. And the game works!

Now I just have to figure out how to play it!

Thanks for your help - it is appreciated.

I'm glad it's working, and impressed how quickly you got that new RAM. (I believe this is what's known as "throwing good money after good.")

My wife about beat me silly when I told her how much it cost for the upgrade! Bruises do heal though.
