Recently I was informed that non-artillery unit placed on tactical reserve suffer a severe penalty when the reenforce adjacent units. The penalty is because, since they are moving 1 square to provide reenforcements, they suffer the benalty for being "mobile". I understand the concept, but, this being the case, what the hell good is the tactical or mobile reserve status (except for artillery). There have been scores of articles, posts, and tips over the years touting using tactical reserve as a fire brigade. Apparantly it isnt much good for that. Quite a few of the articles either date back before the Matrix Edition of TAOW3, but I believe there are a lot of gamers out there that are using tactical reserves to back up a line. They deserve to be told that unless the units are artillery, that it is a bad idea. Comments?
