To be released before Xmas.  As to the price tag, you will need to interrogate David...

Hi. As an avid CCIII junkie, the news of the impending release of COI was huge. However, Christmas has come and gone and, unless I've missed something, still no news of release date. Has COI been released yet, or has there been a production hiccup?

Looks like the latest rumor is that COI will be available sometime during the first two weeks of Jan 2007. My guess is that the price range will be between $39.00 to $49.00 depending on how you purchase the game.

The response from Matrix on this is disapointing. I know that they are away on their hard earned seasonal break. However, k9mike posed the original question over two months ago. On a separate forum, Beeblebrox indicated that the development gold had been passed to Matrix at the beginning of December.

As a potential purchaser, I would appreciated an indication from Matrix when the game is likely to be available and how much it will cost.

Sorry you feel dissapointed, we indicated in several replies that we aimed for a Christmas release (which we sadly could not make). The new anticipated release is in January, which should be pretty much a set deal, if not something major pops up. I can't say anything official about the price, since I'm not involved in such matters, and AFAIK it is still TBA.

But my guess is that the price stated in our latest promotional catalog is a good indication. $39.00 to $49.00 depending on the purchase option chosen.

Marc,

Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate that problems occur. I was frustrated because whilst there was excellent feedback from the developers (CSO), but this didn't seem to be matched by information from Matrix. If I have missed your previous posts I apologise. All being well I look forward to a January release.

Kind Regards,

kam

Hi Marc
Thanks for the response. I think this thread just shows how much the impending release of COI is anticipated by the community, and the level of excitement out there.

If the update is not ready now, I'd rather not see any more wild ass guesses for release dates. Thanks.

There is not that many days left in January so I’m getting slightly worried that we won’t see a January release after all...

Since there appear to be some issues that are preventing a quick release of this great game, I wonder since you are using digital-distribution for this game how quickly can you get the game up on the servers for us to download once the game got the green light for release?

yes I was disappointed as I was fired up to get in some good CC gaming over my holidays.

Now I'm back at work and have other things to do now.

Marc,

Your statement is far from reassuring! Are you able to elaborate or should we speculate? Is it a development, licensing or distribution problem? I, and I'm sure others are really looking forward to this release. Fingers crossed Matrix are able to give us some good news sooner rather than later.

Regards,

kam

Without reading too much into that statement, I'd imagine that means it went GOLD or is nearing GOLD. At the end of development, the game is usually passed off to the publisher in a series of "release candidates" until the publisher deems it "ready" and is sent to manufacturing. At my old company we usually went through at least 3-4 RC's before the publisher green-lighted it.

Basically, sounds like it's at or very near being shipped.

I think you read too much into my statement. There is no problem. The product is actually GOLD, in all aspects. Just the usual "legal check" before it is ready to go. Unfortunately another company that holds rights to CC is really "red tape" about this and wants a final complete check of all things connected with a release. So basically it is up to them and their approval of all items involved.

Everybody is looking forward to the release. And I'm so bold to say that the developer and publisher look most forward to release it
