We scored a 9 (Choice) from Bovine Conspiracy. My favorite line:

"Everything said; Forge of Freedom is the best Civil War game I have ever played. It perfectly matches a strong strategic game with compelling tactical battles. It simultaneously gives the player depth and options to reduce that depth if desired. Mix in the strong AI and I may have my wargame GOTY. "

Congratulations!!! It is pretty good!!!

Now, when I get the printed manual so i can easily read it without printing it out, and to give my eyeballs a rest from the screen, I just might determine how to use the economy correctly. I hate reading manuals from the screen. By the time I determine how to manipulate the economy though, I probably will have played and lost maybe 8 or so ACW's.

Very interesting game.

Chris

I printed the manual out at home and it only used one full black cartridge and a partial color cartridge on an HP All-in-One 6210 printer. It can be done in a few hours at most.

Drex, I did the same thing on an old Lexmark Z-23. It wasn't that bad. I printed both sides of the page and had it bound at staples. Looks great!!

So you in essence spent a $30 print cartridge to print it out...

That's what I don't like abotu digital downloads, having to waste the time and money to print the manuals. If I pay good money for a game I want a printed manual with the game. I am waiting for my manual and hard copy of the game to arrive. until then, it's hit and miss, with what ever info. on game play and mechanics I find here, and some quick loks through the PDF.

I've printed manuals before and just don't like doing that.

I don't like scanning things either, especially with older low end scanners, which is what I have, but may get a newer one, maybe if I need it.

Likewise, on the good review but I could tell it was a winner from the forum posts. If one wants a manual bad enough, $30 is nothing but refilled cartridges are half as much.

Doh! Note to self... don't forget about the edit capability and assume one post = one review. Read content.

Sorry for the snipe hunt.
