As the Allied Player, I'm running convoys through Auckland. After I unload at Auckland, smaller convoys move stuff to Australia. No problems with troops, supplies or stowed a/c, but tankers are refusing to load oil in Auckland. I've currently have 24,000 oil there. Bug or am I missing something?

The routine to load oil and resources is a little bit weird, but it works all the same. It won't say ",loading" up top, but if you check, you'll get the option to cancel the loading process. That means it's under way, and if you check next turn, it should show as having taken oil on board.

Known bug. You need just a few resources in Auckland for tankers/AOs to be able to load oil.

Herewin is correct. One of the Matrix team posted a month or so ago (not going to bother trying to search for it here). Basically the coding of the routine checks for resources present at the port first, if none then it aborts, so doesn't get to check for oil. You only need 1 pt of resource for it to work correctly.

Rather than waste time unloading and loading again, why not just take your TF to Aukland then split it into smaller TFs and move to the final destinations (like a waypoint). I use TRANSPORT hubs - not WAREHOUSE hubs I used Pago Pago as my hub in my early games - being a smaller port size loading/unlaoding took a looooong time.

Tallyho!, with small transport TF it is not a problem, but with large ones, transporting several LCUs, that are loaded on several ships it is a true nightmare to sort out ships with only 1. division aboard for example. If you have 100 ships with 15 LCUs and you want to remove ships with 7 LCUs you need really a lot of time... In such cases I also prefer to unload all and load back what I need.
But If you know some good "trick" I will really appreciate some hint...

On the rare occasion I need to unload 1 LCU of a multi-LCU convoy, I write down the transport names I want to unload and transfer those ships into a new convoy then unload the convoy. It's a pain in the ass but it works.

Put loaded transports together in a TF only if they are going to unload together. I always end up with several different transport TFs for any single large invasion effort. Set the slowest TF to steam to the destination hex, and set all the other TFs to follow that one. Get organized at the start, and you don't have to worry about it later.

yeah, that´s the ideal way, but if I´m short of escort ships, I prefer to form one, well guarded, large transport then several smaller and "user-friendly" but nearly unprotected.

Truly said I´m using what you have describe. It costs me ships, it costs me men, but it saves my time and nerves... I have learned to live with that some time ago. I was just curious if there isn´t any secret metod how to sort the ships from large TF according to the LCU they are carrying.

You obviously are playing the Allies. Losing ships causes me grief and gets on my nerves tremendously.....

I´m playing both sides. But these are my problems in early months as allies, transporting all those LCUs from WC... I know allies can afford the losses, but as I started this game playing as Japan, I get used to cry for every lost ship and so I tried to avoid it. Considered the time and effort I´m now rather accepting the losses.

bah, phew!

I had four games running as Japan. One by one those games died (oponents get married/bored/disappeared/etc..) till the moment when only one left. That was not enough for me, but I couldn´t imagine I will try to get though those first 4 weeks as Japan again. Didn´t want to plan the first turn again, but also didn´t want to play historical start either. Allied side was the only other choice
Now I can start screaming: They (allied fan boys) forced me to do it!!!

Presently I have 1 game as Japan and another one just about to start and 1 game as allies with another one just about to start. That will be OK to me. 2 games for each side. Hopefully noone will quit anymore...
