Dale,

Just so I know this is an improved verison of the old DB editor from the old days right? If not could you possible post some screen shots either here or at the wiki showing some of the changes?

Oh cool so you guys have finally worked on the original DB editor that has been around since the days of H2 and came with the original game.
Now we will have a chance to build units and test them in a scenario all at once? Really cool.

My request got turned around in a day (not the scary 15 days or whatever it mentioned on the request acknowledgement page). Can't wait to get home from work and give it a try.

I was about to apply for the editor out of curiosity. But Exactly what is it that will be made publicly available?

I would assume either a link to your DB online or an email contact for your DB in the AGSI wiki, if your DB got loose and was released to the world. That way people can complain or praise you for problems with the DB and not harass either Matrix Games or AGSI if your DB causes crashes to the program.

Mine in about a day or two.

Guys whats up with the installer btw? It put it on a program files dir which drew an alleg error.

Moved it into the default harp directory C:\matrixgames\harpoon or something like that and works fine.

Did I miss some instructions?

We've been talking to a number of users about this. The download gives you a zip file that you can place in your root H3 folder. Obviously things didn't work out as planned and we'll be making the installer more user friendly for the next beta release.

Later

Okay thanks Dale. I think setting the correct default directory in the installer should solve the problem. Until then maybe a line of text in that email might work

I have repeatedly applied for the Db EDITOR to no avail . I have agreed to all the terms but so far my request have fallen on deaf ears.

It clearly states of the box for the ANW version"database and scenario editors".

The information about creating DB Signatures I have read on other forums and my attempts to use the Reimer Access DB have all failed.

Please can I have the DB editor that I paid for.

hello all,

i received the email and downloaded the archive containing the "Harpoon3Editor.exe" file, then i put it in my ANW folder and double cliccked on it.

the problem is that i have an "error code: -1" dialogue:

my serial can't be wrong since it's the one that is on my CD.

so what do i have to do to have it working?

cheers,

Jan

Hello Russel,

it's the version 3.7.0.0 right as is from the CD without any patch.

do you need my "serialreg.txt" file?

cheers,

Jan

Not necessary.

You'll need to update the installation to 3.8.0 as that's the version of the editor being distributed. This should fix the problem.

Hey all,

For those of us who used to do a LOT of DB work in the past that are returning. How can we get the latest version of Jon R's Access based editor to utilize the latest flags for ANW?

I ask because I have several large DB projects (IE ones the Game based editor is to un-weildly to work with well) that I put on hold about 1.5 years ago that I wish to start again.

CRAIG!!!!!

Welcome back mate, it's been years...

The only way you can get hold of a copy of Jon's RE is through membership of the C3 Content Creator's channel. Otherwise, you could use an older version which would be missing the new DB flags. One of these is the split with Turbofan and Turbojet aircraft engines which may be of interest to you.

I look forward to catching up with you and there's at least one Gent from the "Tarheel" State looking to get in contact with you again after all these years. It's great to see you back.

Hey Darren, And here I on the old Bio's page and reading those antiquated Bios of You and everyone else from back in da day. Was thinking it was high time I updated mine and sent it in to the Doc.

I am still waiting on the game engine DB editor else I would have spent the last 4 days (since I got back into the Computer side) cranking out my new database concept. Don't want to go into much detail yet because I think it breaks some ground that has not been touched yet in Harpoon.

I am also planning on Re-visiting my old WWII DB that is on the Doc's site. A lot has changed in the game engine over the years and I just bet WWII will work better.

Welcome back, Craig.

A WW2 dataset is already in circulation, headed by Tom Herron:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/HarpoonHQWW2/

Getting in touch with the dev group may save you some considerable time in absorbing the WW2-relevant code changes.

Cheers,
Dimitris

Hmm... doesn't seem to want to let me edit Comm waveband flags above medium wave.

Is this deliberate? It's going to be a pain when Sigint gets introduced.

Or is there now no difference in capability between Reimer and Standard?

Nice find "Fingers".

The in-game editor seems to be missing the following flags:

VHF Radio
UHF Radio
SHF Radio

So yes, there's a difference in the available flags. I found one a few weeks back where the in-game editor had a flag that the RE was missing (Phased Array flag for ECM types). Not using the in game editor much it's good to get some feedback from H3CD users.

I'll get this listed in Mantis asap and thanks again for the bug report.

Cheers

Darren

Shemar,

Apologies in advance, the AGSI guys are furiously working on the current internal builds and things are a little hectic. I'll be at a Dev meeting later and drop a friendly reminder for you. Nothing more than too many jobs with too few sets of hands.

Cheers

Darren
