hope this battles engineer set mines work better than they did at Cassino, I got no vehicular kills,,only two immobilizations,, and about 8 infantry casualties.

width of advance might become an issue with how slimly I have deployed my heavy units, but if they aren't even smart enough to use a walking smoke barrage and actually plot anything but a "straight up the middle" tactic,,, WE'LL see?

my infantry and engineers are actually putting up a good fight this time, the german armour is having hell tryin to pursue my units into the forested hexes.and the PIAT is so cool I remember when they use it in "A bridge too far"

picked an earlier time to maneuver by switching all of my troops to advance as soon as I had enough orders to do it,and then concentrateing on their routes of travel, "cut them off as they try to pass"

having the trees interspersed amoung the VH's will give me time to reclaim, if possible, any of the VH's the enemy reaches before the battle ends.
a touch of close melee to a crew dumb enough to blunder into this squads perimeter.

have lost all but one of my MG bunkers, but they were extremely crutial in unhorseing their riding infantry and engineers on the small plain that covers from the stream to the trees and hilled areas on my side of the water, there as the enemies tanks have to probe for my units setup in the forest without their infantry support. this 3in.AT gun got 3 tanks in a row without the germans returning any fire!!
