Soon we will boot the Great Schism to the fringes of polite society and all will return to normalcy. Patience, my brother.

I'm SO disillusioned...

Poor baby - are you singing the anti-war version of "Scarborough Fair"??

Is there any other?

Well, yes... the original version wasn't anti-war, S&G wrote the anti-war one...

BTW - i don't think the Simon & Garfunkle version has the same melody as the original (traditional) version if i can read music... and according to Wiki:

"The traditional carol "We Three Kings" holds the same tune as "Scarborough Fair", with slightly different syncopation."

I have noticed a number of people saying that CHS may affect the PDU choice. Is there something about CHS that makes it a poor choice with PDUs?

Couple notes re: CHS

1. CHS is designed for the extended map. If it's not played on that the allies won't be able to load LCUs or planes that appear as reinforcements at Aden & Panama.

Though now that I'm turning into a JFB, that might not be a bad thing... BTW, I just sank 4 BBs at Pearl Harbor against VSWG in Scenario 158!

2. Ships getting stuck in the grey happens when everyone isn't using the same map data file (pwhex.dat). Also, if it does happen it can be fixed - not a big deal.

3. The only major bug I've seen with this version of CHS is that many/all US Army construction engineers "GS Engr Rgmt" have the TOE of combat engineers. Which probably would mean that by late war the US has 800 combat engineer regiments to use. VSWG edited scenario 158 to fix that - I can upload that tonight when I'm done with work if there's any interest.

4. I've noticed a few minor bugs (I-15 doesn't carry a Glen, for example) but nothing that's to me game-breaking.

Looks like a fun game!

Well, they have adjusted production to meet historical levels (or have said they did) - and maybe they have adjusted the choices to reflect aircraft that are in CHS... just a guess, though...

I will go along with the will of the group, but I would like to point out that I don't think PDUs being off goes along well the idea of having to spend political points to move units to a new command. It is almost two restrictive. The allies could find themselves in the situation of having no 4Es in southeast asia, and needing them, while Southwest Pac is flush with them, but doesn't need them.

I've actually always just tried to eliminate Kwantung units from marching to China without spending points first, and the Allies from stripping the DEI and Philippines of 90% of the forces there to save them for later. I've never played it such that it where it applied to air units as well. That seems overly harsh, because they did move around to different bases run by different hq's without necessarily changing their own command structure. I would definitely restrict Japan from basing IJA air units at IJN bases and vice versa, but more than that....well, it should be discussed and clarified first. Japan will not be able to train air units if the full restriction suggested above is in place.

War plans for ABDA and USAFE are now classified, but those Dutch and Philipinos are a proud folk, they won't give up easily.

She is not much to look at but I think she would make a good third wife!

My ex could tie a cherry stem with her tounge. It was one of the few reasons I married her.

You know, i've heard of such tales, but i never figured out if this was exaggeration for effect, or what... it is hard enough for me to tie a cherry stem with my fingers...

LOL. I saw this in person back in college. After the young lady demonstrated her talents we physics wienes spent the rest of the night discussing how this could be done.

Oh for second chances.

Yeah, but i suspect that the person does the trick the same way they can pull a coin out of my ear... i dunno... not being talented in that way makes me a tad skeptical, i guess.

EDIT: That DOES clear up the "exageration for effect" theory, though...

OK - my wife must be having a "fibrofog"* day: she just called me at work, and 5 seconds into the conversation said: "Wait, are you at home??"

(She has heriditary fibromyalgia - and one of the problems is what they call "fibrofog" - sort of going around in a daze all day...)

Hi all,

My take on PDU is YES on but reluctant NO if we want to stick to purely historical i.e. CHS game.

Of course she no longer had this talent once we got married.
