V1.8.0.4 Win XP Pro....
Recently bought (3 weeks or so) and updated via the patch as soon as the download was installed. Playing as Allied v the computer as Jap, Scen 15 (ex Uncommon Valour, I figure jump in at the deep end and play the first few weeks a couple of times to get the idea of things).
On my third attempt at the opening month or two I've had two reinforcement squadrons arrive - VP72 PBY's at Sam Frank's Disco, and 84 Squadron Blenheims at Karachi. Opening up their details all the wording is there, missions listed, height selection and so on, but all the little buttons needed to select things (bar 8 of them) are simply not there. Buttons that ARE on the form are (1/2) Buttons to select next group (< and > ) the (3) BACK button, (4) Exit, (5) 'Show groups of S E Asia', (6) 'Allow replacements' , (7)'upgrade now' and the (8) 'upgrade' button where the a/c you select for the unit to upgrade to is listed.
Same deal goes for VP72 except that (7) - the 'upgrade now' isn't present, which is okay as the pool doesn't have sufficient upgrade a/c for VP72 as yet. 84 Squadron has arrived with Naval Attack as primary mission, rest as secondary, 50% naval search and a 12000ft altitude - none of which have selector buttons next to them which somewhat limits my tactical options.
I've a save game from my previous attempt to lose WW2 in record time that has both units in, both with fully populated forms...identical game, ie scenario, US v computer and so forth, I simply got to Jan 25 or so 1942 and thought 'right, learned a bit more, let's start again and see if I'm getting any better' which suggests to me it's probably a problem unique to the save file, rather than the game install itself? I've loaded both units onto AK's for a short trip to elsewhere (84 shifted to Bombay, VP72 to Palmyra) in the vain hope the move and unload would trigger a 'refresh' of the unit settings, but no change.

I had that problem when air reinforcements arrived too until I realized that
there is a changeout in the lower left corner that lists these squadrons as
"computer" controlled when they arrive. When clicked on to change to
"human" control, all the buttons appear. Evidently though you can't change
back after changing this.....

By George he's got it!

Thanks, just shows - I've stared at those forms and not seen what's in front of me simply because it's unexpected. (Not least because in other games they've apparently arrived NOT set to computer control....)

That's me less baffled then, thanks for the help - I've sorted out rather a large number of things that seem a bit odd but that one had me stumped.
Cheers,
Dave
